In all the dynamis shells I have been in, these usually go to the tanks.
However, I'm interested in what other jobs can make good use of this gear?
Puller?
Random Melee #34?

They're put to "good use" by people who take a lot of damage. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the job, it's whoever your LS puts in that situation, whether they're PLDs, NINs, RDMs, WARs, etc. Pullers and random melees (and most other jobs/situations) SHOULDN'T be taking so much damage that giving up a ring or back slot for a random shot at zero damage would be worth it. However, there's always exceptions for people who (for example) are crazy soloists or similar, so I won't suggest that it's an iron rule. It really depends on the person and what they do, rather than their job.Originally Posted by Tobatobu
It does depend on their job and role in a LS. I'm not going to a raid to help some "master soloist" get a shadow item that wont be used for the greater good of the LS. Unless the Dynamis LS operates purely on a point system, there is no reason for a non tank to get these items. Rather it be pld, nin, war, rdm, w/e. If they aren't using it to tank major things a majority of the time for a LS, then it's a waste. I'm not helping kill DL so SMN Joe Blow can farm spiders easier.
All shadow items are priority to Hydra Haubert Wars.
Cue freelot-ring picture from manaburn.
Give shadow mantles to tank pt whms and brds for khimaira so they don't get dicked by a bad timing tourbillion
Ready? Go.
named Cainhighwind or w/e that like to tank in merit pt? lol..Originally Posted by Neosutra

Our linkshell doesn't do points per say, however I have been maintaining a list of attendance for decision making.
The decision will likely be based off usefulness outside dynamis.
Just give everything to Bagel.
so far we give out one mantle and one ring to our tank and puller (me and i'm one of boss puller >.>
the damn ring didn't save me from the death magic from dynamis tombstone, but i did survive one in a while from carby 2hr in temenos. and the most recent I just notice ground burst from mamool in bersiege also consider magic damage -_-
Split your dynamis LS into people who deserve the items and worked hard for the LS and people who are just dragged through dynamis 2 times a week. Give the items to tanks from group one first then to other people who deserve it.
I rather see a good and motivated melee getting a shadow item before some retarded adaman pld who is afk 50% of the runs.
If they can't get the spells off between TP moves, they fail anyway.Originally Posted by Ryko
We work on a point system, and we gave mantle to our main PLDs. Then to members who put lots effort in dynamis. Seems logical.
I want a mantle for my 30 defense counterstanced monk tanking allmost everything i beat on (*'3')/
LBC crit me for 73242645242 damages ? Stupid dynamis rng mobs EES me for outrageous numbers ? Mantle prz~
Mantle goes to tanks, Ring goes to mages, melee get nothing. Leaders /point based on people who have full attendance for atleast 6 months. Weve been doing dyna since it started, so that works out for us, for a new LS though, dont think it would go over to well :Q
Why do mages get ring? lol
I dunno, just the way it was decided. Id prefer mantle myself, but either way they dont proc enough/reliably to keep me alive anyway!Originally Posted by Seditedi
The way my shell does it is PLD priority on mantle (still look at points), and the ring is point based. The logic being more that unless you're consistently actually being hit, IE, PLD/WAR, then the mantle isn't particularly useful given the proc rate. Most jobs find themselves in AoE range at one time or another, and the ring helps there.
Personally I'd say either of them has a potential place in a mage's idle macro. Not maybe as useful as if one is using them on a specific tank build, but a savvy mage will fine more use for them than simply trophies. Not that a tank wouldn't use them more, but there's a balance between usefulness and rewarding effort. How we do things satisfies both I think.
we give the mantles to the most dedicated tanks, then dedicated ninja's after all the reliable tanks have it.
our rings went to our best ninja first then plds.
after that, they could be given to members who are deserving. matix got a mantle for his rng/nin utsusemi recast macro.
i see no point in giving rings to mages at all. if they don't know how to time their songs/buffs between tp moves, stay out of range of certain AoEs.. they really suck and a ring would be wasted on them.
That's beyond ridiculous.Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX
Trixi is probably referring to a WHM named Daria, who also has NIN75 and was really active in their dynamis shell. so that made it ok @.@ she's also one of the nicest people in RagnarokOriginally Posted by Ryko
