Okay so first of all, I just set up my 2nd computer in my room. It has exactly the same specs as my first computer..

the second computer is running about 5-10fps lower.
anyone know whats wrong?

check the bios configuration of both.
Make certain you have the correct chipset drivers loaded for the systems.

those arent the same specs btw>.> one is 2.2 and one is 2.4, still shouldnt cause fps issues... are they the exact same hdw minus proc?

i am not a computer geinus. but the 2nd computer has the same configs as my first, except some things are lower to make it run at the speed its running, playable lol.

It could be something running in the background of pc #2 taking up resources that you don't know about. Virus's, Spyware and a host of other legit programs that you just don't need in the background running. Also if you have programs running like instant messaging and such you should close those as well because they will mess with the ratings.

Second thing it might be is a driver issue thats causing the fraps to drop. So really the next thing do do is make sure everything is up to par driver wise.

Third thing it might be is a faulty hardware.

Uh yes it is, nvidia discontinued support for those cards nearly 3 years ago.

Its funny when people ask for help and then refuse the most logical/ correct answer. Hes not saying run out and get the Nividia 8800GTX superclocked 450 bucks. You can get an 8500 for under 60 bucks or a 8600 for under 80 bucks.

i'm not saying that i'm trying to refuse help, i'm saying it runs fine right now, and there is nothing wrong with it. I can run FFXI fine on this computer, but i cannot run it on the other computer when it has the same specs.

Comparing specs is one thing. Comparing the lifespan/durability of hardware = {Impossible to gauge}.

The point is one systems hardware is still fine. The second systems hardware is starting to fail. Some equipment can run forever without a hitch other equipment can fail brand new right out of the box. Thus the common term DOA or Dead On Arrival.

Since we type our response I and a few others have spelled it out for you. If your not happy with our answers there are other forums(which will pretty much tell you to upgrade) You can always go pay some guy 50-100$ to tell you the same thing.
