Einherjar - Morbol Emperor

I am posting this thread wanting to know if anyone have any suggestion on this boss. We have beaten every boss in wing one so far and this one is the one that is given us the most trouble.

After looking over the tier one thread and searching the forum; I found little information about a good strategy on this boss.

So far I seen three strategies that we have only tried two.

1) Souleater trick - kind of random and need someone to help Morbol to build TP to do drain steal. Souleater duration is also cut from the total duration.

2) Tank
DD Morbol DD


Mage


Outside
Mage x2

Have mages correct status alignment.

3) Reduce melee, no meleeing at all. Have tank, black mage, and ranger slowly lower Morbol's HP. At 60-50%, melee charge in a zerg with chain stun. (The one we haven't done yet).

Absorb TP and TP reduce from BLU.

I've won that boss before and from what I remember we had all the melee engage at the start, I think CS+STUN was use (but not sure) and maybe two benediction cause we only bring 2 WHM to einherjar. All I remember was it popped and hit the ground fast.

Now the orobon boss caused problems. With his high HP and Seismic Tail shit just completed devastated the alliance.

Just throw everyone on it at once and have good WHMs?

We do it with SV songs, CS stun, etc. it should drop fairly quick

we don't have problems with that one. The stupid Marid gave us a rough time last week. We weren't really prepared for the chigoes.

Seismic Tail is Stunnable. Just have a few people watch for it.

Just throw everyone on it at once and hope you have good melees. A mob that's long over due can cause more damage than a whm can repair.

Actually, full zerg at start might be a good idea.

Since Sweet and Bad AoE attack's damage is based on HP.

Have 2 RDM/DRK and zerg the crap out of him... Its a good tactic for nearly everyone who makes trouble^^

Out of curiousity, to those of you who bring Rdm/Drk, about how many Rdms and Whms do you usually tend to bring?

I'm asking because we usually have only a couple of each and our Rdms usually sub Whm (maybe Blm, I never really check).

can't you just invincible when it draws souleater, getting hate and watching as he eviscerates his own HP doing nothing to you?

I'm pretty sure that's what #1 means.

The issue with souleater steal strategy is that its rather based out of luck.


1). Morbol Emporer doesn't regen TP, you need to feed TP.

2). Morbol Emporer doesn't always do drain move as first weapon skill.

3). Drain move can be blocked by utsusemi's shadow.

One suggestion given was thief subbing dark knight and perfect dodge while feeding Morbol Emporer TP. But tbat could be random too.


Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

This is just based on our personal experience while we tested the souleater strategy on Morbol Emporer. Three Morbol did two Sweet Breath and one Bad Breath as their first weapon skill when we tried it.

With good mage support and a Good tank just Zerg it with 2 plds who have no buffs (cancel them out if they are well trained to that point which is very hard.) Once your melee dies off little by little have your blms start nuking as well. It will whittle down the hp fairly fast (this is if you dont have rdm/drk)

During low HP phases you need to spam Dispel/Finale because it spams DEF boost, MDB boost, RR (true ), ATTK boost and other stuff.

I'm pretty sure that's what #1 means.

my suggestion reminds that he'll still kill himself if you invincible and take 0 damage, rather than just throwing bodies at him to deal 5,000 damage to.
