Do some mobs give you more tp from hitting you than others? If so, why? And how do you prove it either way?
(Trying to settle an argument)
Thank you for any help

yes. it's based on the mobs delay. i believe most give 1.9tp?, some give 2.0, and some give more/less.
you can prove it by getting hit 10 times, and devide tp by 10, will give you exactly how much you got per hit.
Well, technically it would take more than 10 hits to make an accurate test =P ...There seem to be a fair number of mobs near 2 but not at, since I get angry if I end up 1TP short of finishing something off in campaign, grr.Originally Posted by rog
Go into ballista and get smacked by a merc kris and you'll get 1TP/hit always, for a comparison. I don't think it's possible to get 0, because I'm sure that the ~90-100 delay of a MNK during 2hr would fall <1. Please correct me on this if I'm wrong.
Now, if only we got such nice TP from spells cast by mobs like they get from us...
...Ug, now I want to ponder if some mobs get a subtle blow trait--either because of their job or for any other reasons. I smell substantial boring data collection in my near future.
given that the tp truncation is apparently at 1 decimal place, 10 hits would be sufficient (you should get either 19, 20, or 21 mostly.)Originally Posted by Aymee
and yes, it is reasonable to assume that mobs with jobs with subtle blow also have the subtle blow trait imparted by the job (see: double attack, as the most obvious of these.)
Most Mandies will give 1 per fist.
Yes, go get beat by MNK mobs that's all you need to see.
Dont they have active subtle blow?Originally Posted by SathFenrir

Gogo store tp?Originally Posted by Rukenshin
That's not why they give 1tp per hit (or more accurately, that's not the main reason.) The Delay is divided by 2 then run through the TP forumla, then STP & SB are applied (iirc).Originally Posted by Jedimasta
Which was exactly my point. It's perfectly likely they do have it but the delay is the technical reason.Originally Posted by LD
This being why I'm curious to run around seeing if I find a way to test if mobs outside the normal job spectrum (like, NMs, or mobs with subjobs) would have the effect. Not exactly vital or exciting findings, but it would be curious to see if the development team gave the trait to mobs or groups of mobs, like some get a bonus double attack/zanshin/whatever. You know damn well there's probably just some pop-up menu with checkboxes they can probably give traits to mobs with. I might think a bit more highly of them if they went into this much detail on things.
...Actually. Could maybe use the Pit to test this. Normal world vs ToAU vs Past mobs (content existing before and after they invented the job trait--and some mobs of the same name in the past as the present but scaled differently).
