    How does Campaign really work?

I just got finished with a short campaign, it seemed really odd.

We were attacked by Shadowhorn and his stormers, Steelbiter Gudrud and One-eyed Gwajboj.
Frankly speaking, we got our asses fucked.
They stomped all over us, and yet... the NPCs/mobs suddenly warped (seemingly out of nowhere) and we were declared victorious.

    What's up with that?

How long did it last and how many lesser mobs did you kill off?

I had one earlier today in the Necropolis in which both the Orcs and Sandy's forces returned victorious from the same campaign...

Were you defending or attacking a Fortification? If you were attacking a Fortification the Allied Forces will be declared victorious if a certain amount of damage was dealt to the Fortification, regardless of how much of a slaughter it seemed like. Just one Allied General can deal ridiculous amounts of damage in a short time if they're not attacked by mobs and just focus on the Fort.

Sorry, I was attacking when the double victory happened. So, yeah, that makes sense. Probably decimated the NPCs fighting somewhere, giving victory to the Orcs. Yet the players still dealt a decent amount to the fortifications, giving Sandy a victory as well.

Re: How does Campaign really work?

Couple days ago i was defending Rolanberry from Herohunter and his goons. We killed all his peons and eventually Herohunter warped and declared himself victorious. So beastmen wins while attacking is boss health or damage dealt to fort (I know -3 of the normal guys got to hit it for maybe a minute).

Beastmen can retreat if they take enough damage and their morale is very low, even if you don't completely demolish their ranks. Even if they're kicking your ass at the time.

Orcs blew their morale check and ran away. Lucky San d'Orians.

It's also possible that the NPC general was somewhere else soloing beastmen the whole time, so even though PCs were getting slaughtered, the general got enough kills to make up for it. Unless you know how the general was doing, there's no way to tell if it was just PCs getting slaughtered or the army too.

    That part I know.
She was near me when I died. Shortly before it ended, One-eyed killed her.

Re: How does Campaign really work?

I'll post a screenshot as proof when I get home, but NPC's will only stay in a zone for an hour and then leave 'victorious' even if they didn't fight anything.

I started getting my 3'rd character his WoTG crap which included the traditional 'stand in the zone until a battle starts so you can get starter allied notes to teleport freely' and it took almost 2 hours for one to begin. In that time 2 windurst divisions came and 'returned victoriously' without actually doing anything.

I'm more curious why the OP's SS doesn't show the enemies leaving message.

What gets me is when my home nation reports Beastmen forces returning victoriously.

Seriously, if they won, then we lost, and if we lost, why are we reporting their victory?

Here you go, you can actually see 2 division's 'return victorious' after doing exactly jack fucking shit.

They do that from time to time just so that there are periods where the forts arent defended and the enemy can attack freely.

    It happens a lot.

This would seem to explain it, the npc's probably got dispatched quite a while before the actual battle started, and were "victorious" when enough were still alive 1 hour in.
