    The Office

    ITS FINALLY BACK!

GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER - Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski) find they have run out of excuses and are forced to go to Jan (Melora Hardin) and Michael's (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) house for dinner. When Andy (Ed Helms) and Angela (Angela Kinsey) are also invited to dinner, Dwight's (Rainn Wilson) jealousy gets the best of him. Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Oscar Nunez, Phyllis Smith, Paul Lieberstein, Mindy Kaling and Creed Bratton also star.

tonights episode was well worth the wait... awkward humor is the best.... im so glad the strike is over.

I was sooo relived at the fact that they started new seasons of everything today. It had totally slipped my mind until I saw the all new "My name is Earl, 30 rock and The Office" promos. I didn't move for 2 solid hours lol.

The Dinner party was great lol, I love Dwight "Come home with me Michael, you can sleep with me" Thank goodness for Thursdays again! Oh and thanks for the new thread its been long overdue.

I don't know. I'd say tonight's episode diverged from "akward" to downright unpleasant humor. It definitely had its moments ("That is a $200 plasma-screen TV you just killed!"), but it's probably my least favorite episode of the season.

    Re: The Office

Maybe its the british in me but...Damn, that was bad? :S

I thought the first series was difficult to watch but faaaark. The original is still the best and i know you guys are trying...

Don't get me wrong, i love Steve Carell, but i just don't think he brings out the David Brent style of character that Ricky Gervais could.

It might just take another viewing to get to grips with it but i'ma stick with the homegrown (albeit old) version of this.

On a side note, ya'll get Skins over there?

Totally disagree. It was chock full of awkward.

So much goodness in this episode that I can't list it all. First that comes to mind is the camera by the bed. The $200 TV. Dwight's carnal relationship. Jim's apartment is flooded...

The two shows are so different now that they really should be judged on their own merits. Your old vs. new argument is about four years too late. Time to move on, buddy.

    As for Skins, nope.

Lol was hardly an argument, merely my point of view? Or are those not allowed here

They are different i agree, but based on the same premise and i think the british version is the better of the two. No need to flame son, havin a civil conversation here

Skins is a mint british series thats just comin to the end of its second run. There are episodes online on various sites but am at work and unable to google the sites i know exist for a link. Try lookin on http://www.e4.com (i think is the right webby) and there'll be a link on there to the minisite of it.

Rough synopsis, bunch of teens goin through everything that teenagers do, and then some. Drink, drugs, sex etc are all involved with abundance. Some harsh moments but overall very funny and up to date. Check it out ^^

My bad, I keep forgetting to toss in emoticons in my posts. I wasn't really trying to flame since I knew you were just stating an opinion.

    Re: The Office

I thought last night's episode was classic The Office. The conflict between Jan & Michael throughout the entire dinner party was hilarious. Oh lawwd at Michael's comment on the wine's "oaky afterbirth". I have nothing bad to say about the episode.

I watch Skins on Surfthechannel... great show! Almost all caught up, I think I have one episode left to watch.

I forgot the Office was coming on last night. =(

    Re: The Office

This was the first episode of the Office I saw and I was honestly expecting it to be funnier based on how much praise it gets. However, it was really good and I enjoyed it thoroughly even though I may not have understood some of the humor involving knowing the characters a bit more. I especially loved the scene where the wife was dancing to that 'Hunted' guy's music. Oh lawd, so awkward!
