Need some help on choose LCD monitor

The hdtv thread just remind me that I'm gonna to decide a monitor for my desktop.

Prefering the size around 20~21 inche and around the price 200-250USD. Well, I'm not plan to buy it right now, but maybe 2-3weeks later when I get some desk for a space to setup my desktop.

What's the opinion about the monitors below? Or is there any other recommend brand that I should pay attention on?

They just don't make good ol'monitors that last this long.

Anyways I've seen that Samsung model in the stores before and it looked very nice.
The Viewsonic looks nice too but not as good as that Samsung.
Not sure about that Acer one tho.

Try and see if they might have them at your local retailer.

However, I'm barely able to find a nice fucking electrical shop like best buy Houghton, Michigan, besides walmart. Guess either walmart or newegg then

The Acer one is an excellent choice too - along with the Samsung.

I used to have a 19inch samsung, LOVED IT, using a 22inch dell now... My next will probably be a 24 or 30inch Samsung... for some reason the colors seemed a bit nicer on the samsung then the dell, so I don't know if I'll run Dell+Sam dual again, might have to either buy 2 sams or just deal with getting another dell.

I just bought a 22 inch LG monitor and I'm loving it. I suck ass at calibrating colors though Q_Q.

Samsung is generally good. Even if you don't buy a Samsung branded monitor, chances are decent you'll wind up with a panel they made.

Dell makes pretty good monitors as well, usually at good price points.

Either company isn't perfect, so you do want to look into user reviews of a given model before you buy. Both are known to swap to lesser panels in a given model monitor at times.

At the price point you mentioned though, can't be especially picky XD

If you can go maybe $30-50 higher, you could put up a nice 24" monitor. 1920x1200 for 2D work is wonderful. You'll have more space then you know what to do with.

Samsung makes fine monitors, they aren't always the best of the bunch, it's hard to buy a BAD one. It's a safe bet.
