Repairing Network Connections w/Recovery Console?

So I recently downloaded Windows Service Pack 1 for XP, then did a system restore to before I got the service pack. Now one of the folders in Control Panel (Network Connections) is totally empty and I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be like that. My Nintendo Wifi thing keeps giving me the error "Not connected to the internet" when I try to install it, and I'm pretty sure this empty folder is the reason why.

So I wanna know: Is it possible to recreate this folder using the recovery console, or do I have to do a full format and reinstallation? Anyone know?

(In case your curious, I'm using a cracked version of XP and when I get any service pack it breaks the crack, so it's not as simple as just getting the service pack again.)

Weird. If it's empty, can't you right click and make a new connection?

Did you check if your wireless/LAN drivers got uninstalled/removed somehow too?

And what is this Nintendo WiFi thing?

When I attempt to make a new connection, nothing really happens. I finish the wizard and nothing comes up. System restore can sometimes do funky things to your computer.

I reinstalled ethernet drivers and that didn't help.

If you're unable to source a cracked copy that you can update, buy it. You're leaving yourself stupidly unprotected.

First make sure that the Network Connections service is running though. If THAT fails, make sure you've got a "netman.dll" on your PC. If you don't you'll need to download it from http://www.dlldump.com/dll-files/N_3.html .

From what I've read this is only a SP1 problem, why didn't you skip to SP2?

Start Menu -> Run ->

type in: services.msc

A window comes up. Scroll down the list to see if it's running.
