Why can I not zone at work?

I work at two hotels. When I log on at work its with my own personal laptops. No matter which laptop I use, or whether I connect to the wireless network or the ethernet connection, when im on FFXI i cannot zone. With the exception of Moghouse> the area i entered from. Any ideas why?

whatever port that it uses to connect with is probably blocked on your internal network. but that's really just a simple, quick answer... even though it's also probably the most likely.

free wifi or "you have to log in or you cant get anywhere" wifi?

ya since its a hotel network it has a prompt page but thats usually only when u connect to the wireless.

you are still going through some kind of filter on your router, so that could be what's causing and is my best guess as to what is causing it

I've found in some cases if you have to click through a user agreement page or whatnot, that all you gotta do is just load your browser once and agree to it before doing anything else...then your entire connection is unimpeded from there forward for the session. Something to try, at least.
