    End game food for RDM

Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas on a good food for rdm (hume) for end game. Specifically for salvage and or hnm. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated

PS I really fail at searching after the forum update, so please forgive me if this has been posted already.

My top 2 are generally Marron Glace(MP +13% cap @85, hmp+1) and Icecap Rolanberry(MP+ 19% cap@55, INT+2), both 3 hour foods. Every now and then I'll get ahold of a Clot Plasma and have a friend make me Crimson Jelly, but I wouldn't pay for it. If looking for shorter duration food probably Snoll Gelato or Rolanberry/Melon Pies +1.

Goblin mushpot is decent, it has mnd +10, thou it's a 3 hour non-stackable.

    Wizard cookies:
for hMP in merits, they're great and super cheap

    Coffeecake muffins:
MP + 10%, MND +1/2(NQ/HQ), nice blend of MP and MND

    Mushroom Stew:
MP+40, MND+4, hMP +4, enmity -4 - probably the best HNM food for RDM

    Goblin Mushpot:
MND +10 - amazing MND but no other useful stats

    Humpty Dumpty Effigy:
Expensive but neat, gives 6% HP and 6%MP, possibly hMP and hHP.. I believe this has been tested but not officially confirmed

Tavnazian Tacos: for solo/kiting/any time you will be taking physical damage

Use pies or other BLM food if you plan on nuking.

For me, Melon Pie+1 for kited solo fights, Goblin Mushpot for absolutely everything else. Whether you're in a group-setting, or melee soloing something, that 10 MND is fantastic for Slow2.

I'm also Taru, though, if that means anything.

If you're talking about actual events/casting, I'd usually go with Goblin Mushpots, though Mushroom Stew would be good too.

Wizard Cookies most of the time otherwise. If you need MP in your Convert setup, you can use Bretzels (8% MP, cap at 55) for a little extra, and as a 3 minute food they won't get in the way of using cookies to med.

Wizard Cookies are great, but I got tired of the 5 minute duration, and always found it wearing in the middle of a rest, and I would just forget to put it back on. 5 minutes feels like you're constantly eating food, and I've already got enough crap to recast every 2-4 minutes.

I like Sweet Rice Cakes for most things. They're not the best at any one thing, but they give you a little bit of benefit at a variety of things. MP +17 Vit +2 Int +3 Mind +1 hHP +2 hMP +2 Evasion +5 Resist Silence 30 minute duration.

If I'm doing something specific (Chain-Nuking, solo kiting, or sole Main Healer for extended periods of time), I might go with something more +INT or +MND, but normally I stick with these.

On Bahamut, they range in the 2-3k/stack range.

For pure INT-ness, I love me the Cream Puffs. +7 INT is nice stuff.

Even tho not a common food I still come across it enough and enjoy using Ambrosia for stuff. +7 to MND INT and HMP is sexy.

Edit: Also if the speculation regarding Fin Sushi having +5 INT and Magic Accuracy is true, that seems like a sexy food to use when soloing via the kite and nuke method.

I don't find myself resting very often on RDM, at least not enough to make carrying around cookies worth the trouble. For group events, Marron Glace or Mushroom Stew are your prime choices. I typically only use Marron Glace when I'm EXPing or DRK subjob. I'm Hume though so this could be different if you're Taru. Tavnazian Taco is a clear cut winner for kite solo when you're running the risk of taking physical damage.

I use Sweet Rice Cake, Wizard Cookies, Marron Glace, Mushpots, and Pie. I have about 1000 of the cookies and a couple hundred Cakes tho, thanks to a period when a friend was leveling Cooking and I'd log in to find about 12 slots worth of the stuff everyday.

This is one of the threads I'm assuming you're talking about. Without commenting directly there because people who don't understand statistics piss me off, it is highly unlikely that Fin Sushi has any Macc to it. (Wizerd does not give actual damage numbers, in which case it would be easy to figure out if it if they were significantly different).

Also, I think that the use of hMP on RDM varies with both playstyle and with philosophy. My philosophy on hMP is that since a RDM rarely if ever is given the opportunity to rest to full MP, it's best to stack on as much as you reasonably can so that you can make the absolute most out of the first few ticks. A single spell like sleep when you're waiting for your convert timer to be up can literally save lives and that's only 19 MP so personally I try to maximize how much I get per tick. Cookies are still my preferred XP food. If everyone is alive and doing well after a haste cycle, then I will generally pop a cookie and rest for a tick and I find that in the long run this is really useful for making sure you don't hit your convert timer, slowing everything down.

    Ditto, I love these.
Assuming your server produces an affordable supply, they're convenient.

For salvage it depends how people "use" you. In my group we go with rdm-brd-whm combo so i dont heal/haste much, i dont rest, i use dia3 on all mobs and debuff NMs. My job is to pull, so i use def food, fish mithkabob is the best for rdm apparently and quite cheap.

I used to use Marron Glace, but I've been using Muffins since they were released which I prefer more since I generally won't need the entire duration of a Glace.

I usually just use cookies, well this what I used on low Nyzul floors when I came as rdm, when you don't have a lot of time to rest it's important you can be up again as quick as possible.

These days for events where I come rdm I usually just eat a leftover pie from blm, organizing events etc I don't have a lot of time to think my food through in depth, but if I were to face up to my inner lazy bish and shout em down I would eat mushpots whenever I could get a chance to buy them. I hate that they last such a long time though. It's a pain if I want to go exp SMN or something where I would eat different food and still have that long ass food effect. What's even more annoying is carrying multiple mushpots in case I die. I need 10 slots for most events since I am lotting coins etc and am usually at a precarious 59-64/70. Carrying 3 unstackable foods does nothing to help my mood in that case.

This is for stuff like limbus/einherjar btw, for dynamis I would just pop cookies usually since again, I'm often pressed for time and need to get mp fast if I blow it, in CoPs anyway. Cookies combined with a good hMP set mean you don't have to be watching Convert timer like a hawk. It's also a bit safer imo to rest up when there's mobs with AoE rather than Convert and risk a manticore running past you and using Heat Breath... or Riddle. >

I don't really need much MP in my Convert, I'm at about 1105/1079 HP/MP, so this is just my opinion! :D MP food can help when you are resting a lot though because I find that there is a big gap between my MP in resting gear (~899) and my MP in convert gear (~1079). Some of that nasty gap could be made up with marron glace maybe.

I've always been a big fan of Brain Stew (INT+5, MND+5, hMP+3, 3 hours). It can be pretty rare though, so I mainly use cookies for times when there's a reasonable chance of death. For shorter timed things, Melon Pie and Roast Mushroom (especially their HQs) are also good options.

I'm a mushpot fiend although I do dabble in mushroom stew occasionally.

Using 3 hour food like Mushroom Stew will force turtle to use Tortoise Song at a 100% rate until your food is gone if it's your first Nyzul run of the night. True story, I did the maths on it.
