    AVG Update Manager Error

Hi, I have a question. This week my AVG has started acting strange. Upon bootup the taskbar icon is grayed out with the red exclamation mark. It says the Database update in Update Manager is disabled. However, any changes I make to Update Manager settings will NOT save.

Even worse, I cannot access tools > advanced settings at all. Upon trying i get two error messages:

    Error during plugin loading. (0xE0018E09)
    Error during plugin loading.Schedules (0xE0018E09)

I tried reinstalling AVG but the error persisted upon reinstall. I'm worried I have a virus or something somewhere and would appreciate any help anyone could provide. Below is my HJT log. Thanks for any help!

My sister's laptop does this. Near as I can figure, it's because AVG loads a few minutes before her wireless card initializes, so it fails to contact the update server (and only tries on startup/once a day).

@OP: Nothing looks out of place, did you uninstall AVG before reinstalling it or just install over top?

I just reinstalled over top, I can try uninstalling/reinstalling when I have more time though. Is it just something with AVG 8 that causes it to corrupt the update settings?

Also on a similar line of thought, what is creating these in AVG? I've tried googling both and found some things saying they're fine and others saying to delete them. Already tried to delete the Wormradar one (which confuses me since I've never even heard of the site) but it recreated itself.

    O20 - AppInit_DLLs: avgrsstx.dll

Basically I'm just trying to double check these aren't viruses. I got a virus off FFXIAH a few months ago and it's made me paranoid about getting my account stolen ever since.

Thanks again for the quick replies!

I had 2/7 machines here do this to me as well. The problem occurred when AVG tried updating from 8.0.136 to 8.0.138. Everyday I would get the ! telling me that the update did not complete. What I ended up doing was downloading the latest version from

    http://www.grisoft.cz/filedir/inst/a...8_138a1332.exe

And without uninstalling, re-ran setup and selected "Repair"

    Problem solved.

In case anyone is concerned about that link, it was taken directly from AVG's download page at http://free.avg.com/ww.download?prd=afe
