So when it starts getting slow at work I like to go onto Wikipedia and read just about anything and everything. Does anybody do this? What topics do you find yourself reading about? For some reason I read a lot about wars. So come on guys give me some new topics to check out.

I do this all the time. I recently read a lot about Charles Manson and the Manson family on Wiki.

Well when it comes to Greek mythology I used to read it nonstop when I was in my early teens. The Manson family I've read about in the past and found it to be very interesting. I've even read about the series Fear on MTV in the past.

I usually look up whatever is interesting me at a given time and just branch out from there.

I do that too. I randomly click wiki links, or the random page button, untill an interesting article comes up.

Started out looking up the order of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. This lead me to reading about the character Death in the novels. Moved on to death in various religions and mythologies, long story short ended up passing through Greek, Egyptian, Asian mythologies, then on to Discordianism somehow, then on to the various theories on the beginning and end of the universe. Killed almost 4 hours and was very interesting.

Edit: Another thing to do is start with a comic book character and click on links that seem interesting. Can end up all over the place on these as they get linked to inspirations from every imaginable source.

all for going random on itunes looking up bands biographys song meanings and just spuring out from there. Mars Volta was the last interesting one i've read, led into De-loused in the comatorium story, had me occupied for a good few hours.

I was reading about Erwin Rommel for a while. When I'm extremely bored I go and read the wiki about The Office.

Well for me I like to look up wrestlers on wiki since I'm a big wrestling fan. I also found myself spending a shit load of time looking up stuff on comics. Can spend hours alone just doing DC Universe stuff. I never read comics as a kid so I found the summaries of all these comics to be cool. I also read a lot about the TMNT comic and the Sonic archie comic (I know lolSonic comic but it's actually pretty cool).

Next up for me will probably be Marvel Universe.

There's a huge Marvel wiki that has listings of every character etc. Very fun to read if you have some time to kill.

wiki has really detailed plot summaries of most books/movies, if you don't mind the spoilers you can at least find out about cultural references you may have heard in passing and didn't understand.

I like to look up stuff on geography/politics/history, but usually I just follow one link and find something else and keep clicking through links until I get bored, going from one related subject to the next. Interestingly enough, Wiki has a surprisingly deep filmography of a lot of porn actors, not just the big name ones.

Read about Lucifer/Satan on Wiki for some reason today, can't even remember what I was doing or thinking about to make me interested. Usually use Wiki to find the filmography of an actor/actress/director/cinematographer/whatever if I'm not familiar with them, but want to see more of their work.

imdb.com usually has better filmographies, but wiki has a lot more personal info and stuff on upcoming projects etc.

Of course, nothing beats perezhilton.com for celebrity gossip tho, I read that site every morning. It's my guilty pleasure D:

A fun game for Wiki is to start on any page of your choosing, then click links randomly. See how many pages it takes you to get to a page about Hitler or Jesus!

I also wiki just about everything. The other day I wikied Two and a Half Men, before that MadTV, before that, 7-Eleven, before that Occam's Razor, etc.

i always find myself clicking through bands' pages to other bands they may have had members from or maybe did a split with or whatever the case
if the band sounds cool theres usually a link to their website or myspace right there for you to check out

Wikipedia game.

Start on a random page (with a reasonable amount of links and information on) and then open another random page (again, same prerequisites) and then try get from one to the other by only clicking links within articles.

Hardcore mode: You can't use index pages.

I like reading wikihows when I am bored at work... I think my favorite so far was a wikihow on Dumpster Diving...

You can try looking up some astronomy wikis. I took an astronomy class in college just to try and fulfill a science credit and I absolutely loved it.
