[Phoenix] hacked account - Bikkyyy

My friend in Remora got hacked yesterday.
His character is in Phoenix now.
I won't give away his original char name but the hacker changed name to Bikkyyy.
Question.
It's JP account but friend lives in KR. I heard he used JP SE address to activate his ffxi account.
Do you think he better find someone who can speak JP around and make him call JP SE service center to solve this problem?
Or can I log and find GM in game to ask for help?

In-game GMs are fully able to freeze accounts so the third party with access can not do any more damage to it. I know this for a fact because I got this done for my partner's account. They will ask you a mountain of questions though so if you don't have a second account yourself and need to get a friend to do it for you make sure you're in the same room or on the phone or at least on MSN to the friend who's doing it for you. The service centre (via phone or the online chat) can then reset your password and the first time you log on yourself you will be prompted by a GM chat anyway as the account was locked and that GM will explain to you about SE's game data restoration policy etc.

I believe that the above information is quite helpful in this situation.

If you are trying to warn people about the hacked account, shouldn't you give the name so that way people will know it was them, and not just the mule's name. The only other reason i see why you would just give the mule name is because that is where all the activity is coming from.

since he's in KR, it's hard to call SE from there.
well i'll tell him to contact SE online and use Msn to copy/paste coversation. that way i can help him i think

He is online right now in Kuftal tunnel as mnk 75, just contact a GM ingame while talking to your friend so he can give you all the infos the GM need to lock the account.
