    I hate this job

So yeah, call center, supervisor, angry customers. . . gets to you after a while >_<

I'm going to college and just want a full time job on the side that doesn't require much 'rising to the occasion' that'll give me enough money to make a meager living. Just a lot of mundane work and social interaction with customers face to face so they don't feel the need to turn into absolute douchefags with no reasoning skills.

Any ideas? Was thinking graveyard at a gas station or something along those lines. Lay it on me.

Pizza delivery was entertaining if nothing else, customers are usually happy to see you (and then tip you shittily) supervisors generally need to be cool since all their drivers are stoners and such, etc. etc.

    Just a thought.

graveyard at a gas station isn't bad, think of it like clerks except most store owners let you bring your own piece, shame I never got to shoot anyone during my stint working there, the only robbery in 6 months was right before my shift started working at pier1 overnight isn't a bad job either, can catch some zzz on the mattresses since its an 8 hour shift and 2 hours of work. if you actually want to do work you could apply at wal-mart or some shit stocking shelves at night, but then you have to deal with creepy people coming in shopping at weird hours (at 24h locations), thats all i got for now

Well, you could look into doing actual helpdesk IT instead of call center stuff (assuming you're doing tech support or something). It can still be annoying at times, but usually people will be a lot more courteous face to face. You could look at your college or something too, depending on how much you need to make, as you likely wouldn't get full time, but there may be student wage positions.

If you want the odd hour job, you could look at night stocking stuff. I worked that at Kohl's between jobs for a couple months, was pretty low stress. Just basically restocking stuff, moving products around, redoing prices/signs, etc.

Unloading trucks for retail is pretty good too - very limited interaction with customers, plus it can replace an expensive gym members hip since it's such an awesome workout.

I actually worked for 2 years as a call center supervisor for a small ISP while getting my BS. Working from 3 to 11pm and on Saturdays for 2 years really sucked.

You might try Isiolia's suggestion about help desk work. Most of the time the issues people have are fairly simple and you are left alone.

Around OSU FedEX always posts hiring forms for those who don't get internships yet. They pay around $11.00/hr starting for package handlers and they offer tuition assistance and some form of health coverage. My friend worked for them for a year before getting into his current internship. I believe UPS does similar things as well, but if you're not above loading & unloading boxes (which is hard on your hands more than anything) I would suggest looking up either of those. They usually pay better then average and come with tuition assistance benefits.

I remember working at FedEx...sucked ass! But then, I live in Texas. So the FedEx over in your area is better. The Tuition thing is nice though.

I am a Call center "Lead" which means I am a acting supe for a customer at Time Warner Cable. Let me tell you, half the time the customers are angry cause you won't send someone out to fix THEIR TV, NOT THE CABLE SERVICE... Or the 3rd pt routers for that matter

I work in a call centre for one of the biggest Online Gambling companies in the world.

Nothing like listening to people whine, bitch, cry and complain about how they pissed away all their money or got a Bad Beat.

My favourite was the douche who got disconnected from a $33 SnG and then joined another to see if it would happen again and then called to ask for his $66 back. On our International Toll Number. For 45 min.

My job that I said I would post is a DCW(Direct care worker) you work with a company that provides direct care for those who are either physically or mentally handicap.

Its an awesome job, no uniform, very flexable hours, always hiring due to high turnover rate, no manager to breath down your back and usually you get paid to do fun things.

I got paid to go see a movie, and they paid for my ticket, and the drinks he wanted. I work midnights for the job, bring in my laptop and hook up the the houses internet and play wow and get paid 11/hour to do it too.

It isn't for everyone tho, some houses you have to deal with things you don't normally have to at other jobs like passing meds, doing chores and whatnot but its so laid back its perfect for me atm, and the other things you have to do don't bother me much, usually it depends on the house/company you work for what your duties will be but its the best job I have had so far only bad thing is its a dead end but if you need time to do school work and something thats midnights this is the best you can get.
