    PC Display Help

Its me again and yes I have another issue that I can't seem to fix. T.T

First off I am using this video card: EVGA 512-P3-N841-AR GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

I woke up this morning and wanted to set a pw on my screen saver so I right clicked the desktop to bring up Display Properties. Well after i clicked pw protect on screensaver tab, I clicked over to the Settings tab and noticed that it said 4bit under color quality. Confused by this I quickly hit ok and went to the desktop. Then it prompted me to restart for changes to take effect and i figured that it was the screensaver pw deal that needed to be restarted. Mind you, it was early in the morning before work and wasn't thinking clearly since pw protecting on screensaver never needs a restart. Well when my pc rebooted, it came up in 4bit with the minimum resolution. I tried to troubleshoot it but it did not work.

I was also using my pc the night before and it worked perfectly.

Has this happened to anyone? Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you.

Go back into the display properties, and change the color quality back to 32 bit. Then set your resolution back to what it was.

Are you having trouble accessing the display properties again? Otherwise it's that easy.

Yea, thats the first thing I tried. It wont let me change the resolution or color quality. It stays at 4bit and wont give me options to change, same with the resolution.

check device manager for yellow ! next to your video card, seems like ur drivers took a crap on you.

device manager can be accessed by hitting Windows Key + Pause/Break or right clicking on my computer and hitting properties. It is a button on the hardware tab.

I tried reinstalling the driver but that didn't work either. I finally gave up and did a system restore and everything works fine now. I wonder what the problem was.
