Ok, I was bored at work and was thinking about FFXI when this Idea came into my head. I was thinking about furnishings and came up with this.

Weapons Racks, they would be quested and made for you just like the Manequins are and would be able to display your weapons inside your mog house. The different questable racks would hold up to 5 weapons and display them elegantly inside your mog house.

There would be 6 different racks to quest and those would be:

Gun Rack (to display all your Guns/Crossbows)
Staff Rack (to display all your Staves, Polearms, Great Axes and Scythes)
Blade Rack (to display all your Swords, Katana's, Clubs, Daggers and Axes)
Bow Rack (to display all your bows)
Knuckle Rack (to display all your hand to hand equipment)
Instrument Rack (to display all your instruments).

Each quest would intail you to get materials and exchange them to a NPC and then wait a certain amount of time then get the rack.

Any suggestions on this will be greatly appreciated.

Basically this works like the conquest/imprerial standing points thing for the warp and re raise scrolls, just set a point value to each.

A friend of mine suggested new mannequin objects that work like this:

They don't actually "store" stuff, but they work like equipment swap macros. You put something (or multiple things) on each slot, and it will put that gear into your inventory, and swap out what you are wearing that isn't part of that set. If there is a lack of stuff put back into MH/Locker/Storage, it will make you fill the deficit before the transaction completes.

It would basically swap all your <X job> gear for your <Y job> gear in about 10 seconds instead of 3-4 minutes.

Storing weapons on the walls of your moghouse would be epic. I've wanted this for the longest time. Don't have the image handy, but you've probably seen the "This won't end well" poster with the Japanese guy coming home early and the wife in bed with another dude. There's a huge weapons display on the wall.

We need some damn chairs already. Got a billion tables, but for chairs its either the 5 inch high taru stool or the ridiculously expensive harp stool.

On another note, I think it would be cool if we could buy a bigger mh. IE in sandy there are 2 story hosues in the district. bottom floor looks just like normal MH + stairs.

Would be cool if, for like a few million gil, we could actually buy the second level. It would also open up another couple mog safe expansion, up to 100? increase maximum storage from 80 to like 150, and give us an entire second floor of mh to work with.

I am seriously running out of room in my own mh. Split the thing up into several individual rooms via paper walls, but there just isnt enough space!

I've been saying this for a while. SE really needs to take a hint from blizzard and use some sort of a bag system. Although, it sounds like something may be in the works. I read an interview on JPButton where the developers mentioned increasing inventory space but how "ps2 limitations" capped inventory/storage/safe/locker space at 80 items and that they were looking for a way around it. Bags only seems like the logical conclusion. I am so tired of sorting through my MH looking for that last sam or whm piece that I never use. Would be so nice if I could just change to sam, put away my pld bags, grab my sam bags, and be on my way >.>

I've said it before, I only want two things from FFXI. Whips, for DRK and any other job that uses pets (at least BST dammit), and drums for bards. Make the damn thing a ranged brd instrument everyone can use, make brd sub not useless.

Yes, we need chairs for all that sitting down that the toons are capable of doing. Oh wait, that's warcraft, and they have chairs.

I can mostly agree with having limited on character holding space. But there should be unlimited storage space in my mog house. Heck just allow characters to purchase additional mog lockers; or make up some sort of new system that everyone gets for free/quested that has additional space. Mog lockers bypassed the "PS2 limitation" so just do that like... 10x more times or something.

From I recall, 'bags' where a way to store a job's items. Like, throw all my DRK stuff in one bag, BLU in another, etc. I remember the idea kinda sat foul on me because it didn't sound like you could do anything about jobs that you kept shared gear for. (Store your mahatma slops once in a bag, WELP LOOKS LIKE I GRAB BLU & BLM, LAWL.

Aside from bags or being able to swap whole sets of gear at once from safe > inv, the one thing I've always wanted with regards to inventory in this game is a storage space just for furnishings. Even if it was only fifty slots, it would allow people to decorate their mog house without sacrificing tons of useful mog safe slots.

Same... ever since they changed the storage capacity of some items, I've been far over the cap but I don't wanna take stuff out, I like the look of my MH lol.

I remember that... they were talking about creating "bags" that would allow you to store inventory in a job bag of some sort. I don't think they said they were doing it for sure... they were just trying to think of a way around PS2 limitations. I don't know how they would work it given that so much gear can be used by more than one job, but it would be great if they did something to help us out! I think that was the same interview that they said they were suprised that people didn't start new characters for different jobs instead of leveling a ton of jobs for one character... as if they want us to just shut up and do subjob quests, G1, G2, etc. 5 times for 5 different characters or something.

I have always wanted to see them give us a "Weapons Locker".
you can only put EX weapons in it. That would free up a lot of space for those that have kept all their AF1's and any other random EX weapons they have picked up over the years.

I always pictured it as a cabinet type thing you can put up in your mog house.

I really like the idea of a seperate storage for furnishings I have so mane thing I cant put up in my mog I want to just so I have more safe/storage storage.

but any of these ideas would be really nice.
