    Bhaflau 35 NM Day/Moonphase collection (don't laugh)

Okay, I'm as skeptical as the next guy when it comes to moonphase theories, but I don't think there's any harm in cataloging this for a while.

    Rules:
    • Only post if the NM pops, not if it doesn't pop.
Posts must include a screenshot showing either the NM with /clock in the chatlog, or a screenshot of a full chatlog showing both the /clock information and the text of an action being taken on or by the NM.
In the event of an ingame day change after an NM popped, but before the /clock function was used, please indicate this in the text of the post.

Edit for Kaylia: If you remember with complete certainty, please post the room (east or west) that the Dormant Rampart popped in.

    GATE WIDOW

Still don't see why ppl waste their time on this shite - the lotto rate sucks, it's SE and none of us should be surprised.

So put away your moon fraps and your astrology charts and go test some Ebon Panel ish for the Madame's ffs.

That type of comment is more of a waste of space than Suiram's idea. At least he has something to work off of rather than blatantly stating something. Instead of inciting something, why don't you see where he's going with it instead?

Well, I mean, as I said I'm skeptical about it too but, "Normal shitty SE lotto rate" usually means if someone was 5/700, you go up and sometimes one pops, sometimes none pop, maybe another run you get lucky and pop 2. With these people who go 5/700 like the person I quoted above have 6 runs of nothing followed by a run of 5. That indicates pretty strongly something is triggering them to pop, and at that point it's a matter of figuring out what.

People are gonna go pop them no matter what, I just figured we might as well start keeping a record of what happens when they do.

Anyone who's been to the Ramparts a ton of times would pretty much agree that it's certainly possible that there's something that affects the spawn rate of the HQs, when half (or more) of the time you go you don't get a single HQ pop while the times you do you end up getting 3 or 5 or so. Personally I can't recall my group ever getting a single HQ pop on a Rampart.

If there is a condition, whether it's the day or the moon or your haircut it's a pretty good thing to think about. Would make the Ramparts less gay if you knew whether or not you'd be getting completely hosed or only slightly hosed.

They do seem to come in streaks, but so does everything else in the game, including but not limited to:

    Dynamis drops
    Crafting HQs
    Crafting breaks
    NM drops
    critical hits
    triple/double attacks

Nobody has figured out these mysteries either, so while there may be something to the streak of HQ rampart pops, I don't see us figuring it out in the next 3-4 years, and it's probably easiest to focus your attention on figuring out what causes the streaks in any of the aforementioned things, as there's a good chance all streaks are caused by the same underlying game aspect.

Anyway, not trying to derail this thread too much, data collection never hurt anyone, as it can just as easily disprove something as it can prove something.

My "contributing point" was only that it would help a lot more if we had individuals/groups focusing on the complimentary undiscovered conditions of ZR, rather than a long known condition like the 2nd Floor Rampart (that's essentially still useless w/o the former solved.)

But people still seem determined to spam this board w BR drops like they're a bottleneck to unfinished equips.. carry on.

I agree with Flight; go figure our stupid Zhayolm Remnants. Not that this will hurt, but seriously.

Couldn't that be attributed to the placebo effect? As in, they don't actually come in streaks, but you just notice when they do come in streaks?

I mean, I know exactly what you're saying and it's happened to me before, but I always just chalked it up to that.

Re: Bhaflau 35 NM Day/Moonphase collection (don't laugh)

I don't know what the moonphase was, but after months of trying, my ls got its first Skirmish Pephredo NM pops (got 3 by 40%, then we killed the rampart to move on). It was earthsday the entire time, which matches with your finding in the OP.

Re: Bhaflau 35 NM Day/Moonphase collection (don't laugh)

I gave up on this project when shortly after making this thread we went to do a run and got both Gate Widow and Pephredo on the same game day. The premise at the time had been that there were ranges of moonphases that permitted specific NMs to pop, which doesn't seem to be the case now from a variety of people's experiences. I think everyone now leans toward it either being random, or some seperate non-gameday-, non-moonphase-related trigger that permits them to pop.

Strangely enough, the one time we had any Skirmish Pephedero pops was also on an Earthsday, which matches with the other findings here.

I would also like to see moon phases & days in regards to Mad Bomber - if he is up, which path you took etc... if you all don't mind.

Re: Bhaflau 35 NM Day/Moonphase collection (don't laugh)

orly... I've been thinking about doing something similar to this, but with Mad Bomber (as in, identifying what side he is up on what day and moon phase, etc, because I doubt it can be a random thing for a Lv35 drop item that's non-repeatable drop in the same zone (Morrigan Cuffs)). Anyway, here's my contribution to the Skirmish Pephredo pops... Which is also quite interesting lawl...

    http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...rthsdaypep.png

The clock is clocked when we killed the Rampart to continue with the run (Did Boss, etc). 3 Skirmish Pops, that one in the screenshot was the first NM we have seen in Bhaflau, and to this day remains the only time we have seen NMs there. So first pop was at the clock in the corner time, and last was shortly before the /clock on edit there.

I've been thinking of something similar too. Every time we've seen the NM's, its been during the same day. Different one for each NM. Thinking each NM have 2 days it can pop during. Been keeping track of it lately in an excel spread sheet, but sadly, we haven't done much Bhaflau lately. I've also thought about weather possibly affecting it too.

If this is the case, it would most likely mean:
Gate Widow : Firesday and Iceday
    Pephredo : Earthsday and Lightningsday
    Zachary : Watersday and Lightsday
    Peryton : Windsday and Darksday

Since this thread would indicate Pephredo is at least Earthsday and the number of times both Gate Widow and Pephredo pop in the same run is relatively high leaning towards Widow's day being 1 before Pephredo's and people hitting the next floor after day change.
