So he contradicted himself? What am I missing?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but most policies are subject to interpretation.
If you think the GM was saying in one conversation that exploiting terrain everywhere at any time in anyway was a violation and that in another conversation that exploiting terrain everywhere at any time in anyway was never a violation, I think you are barking up the wrong tree.
Also, people change their minds or policies are changed to either become more restrictive or more flexible.
Like people on forums: Sometimes they complain that policies need to be changed and then later, when the policies are changed, they complain that the policies were changed.
Go figure.
we know it depends on the mood of the GM as anything else. nothing new but it is funny did you tell him that you talked with him last time and he told you something else lol?
GM's are idiots who don't know the most basic knowledge of FFXI or their on ToS.
i'd say im shocked but im not.
However its hilarious to see a GM Contradicting himself on the Same NM in the Same situation... The Exact same NM, in the Exact samn Situation, giving 2 Different Responses from the Same Guy. I think that rules out anytime anywhere defense.
Unfortunately, even when you have recorded proof of such inconsistencies with SE, they won't even look into it.
So does this mean it takes a GM 8 months to know what they're talking about?
As far as I'm concerned SE ToS states that GMs can contrive pretty much anything anyone does in this game as illegal if they feel like it that day and no amount of puzzling over it is going to change that fact. You'd think a company running one of the biggest MMOs on the whole internet would teach their 'law enforcement' personnel to be more consistent in what's a bannable offense and what isn't, but that just doesn't seem to be the case.
I'm kinda mad right now in general though for getting griefed today for a good 30mins+ and the GM did nothing to the players in question except said he will 'investigate'. While it was obviously going on. Yeah. Assholes getting off scot free while innocent people are being banned for no reason at all is a great way to run a game.
*Grumble Grumble* Damn GM's *Shakes fist (But still continues to play the game)*
Am I doing it right?
as far as i know the only NMs that cant be GMed are
raged NMs
limited to SW,DI,all the main land kings, the flower in sea and stuff like that. Anything else if they are breaking the ToS by holding it its fair game to call a GM, i think there is some rule that if people are gathering you have time, we then come back to the GM picking whats a fair time to gather and start dealing dmg. The way he talked kiting KB means you can be banned so god knows.
going way back in an old shell of mine(god idk might of even been in inshur) a GM was going to hand over a kirin because the RMT where not doing dmg. Shit like that shows how much power the GMs really have. Just depends on who you get.
None zerg kirins equal braking the rules. Its nuts how you have to hope you get a good GM in order to get lucky when something really needs to be done.
As for the SSes, take a picture of screen with a camera, congratulations they'll never know it was a SS o_O 'I got out my camera and took a picture of this' sup
And I'm sure this isn't the case, but theoretically could've been corrected by a SGM (lol SGMs being intelligent) and changed what he was saying accordingly?
Submit this to SE's writing contest next year. Use the picture of the logs too.
I'd say it's karma. He calls a GM on someone for doing something he does as well, good job Alantinka.
Calling a GM on someone holding KV is lame, if the ls is doing something else or not many on, not saying this is the case, but in general.
