There was word of a north America CBT... but who knows, as along as the game is a success at launch :D

This kind of worries me. I hate how NC gives new content to Korea about a year before that same content makes it's way to the NA/EU client. If they do the same thing with Aion, then I won't even consider playing it.

Pic's of the game look great, better than AoC imo... Late '08 date means it will be pushed back lol... But I remember hearing this game is just a pure grind fest like most Korean mmorpg's... Granted I know nothing about the game, but I do remember hearing that somewhere on BG (tried looking for it but search is to broad to look for it easily since "aion" isnt long enough to search itself)

NCSoft made an official statement that Aion won't be a grind game, its made more for the western mmo market. I think it will be like FFXI regarding lvling speed. Only thing i realy don't like atm is that you can fly only for 1min then 2min reuse timer, thats not even enough for good air-fights <.> hope they change it till release.

NC stated its this way because they wanted to keep flight as something special and not have it become a mundane trick that gets boring by being able to do it anytime you wish, so they're adding a limit to the amount of time you can fly. Although, there are items / skills that you can get that will increase flight time. I *think* they also stated that in the Abyss (main PvPvE area) characters will have unlimited flight as long as there is no anti-flight shield in place.

They are thinking of raising the flying time aloud, that was one of the biggest complaints during phase 2 of CBT.

Maybe they'll just make it so you can't engage while in the air. Could solve that problem.

Nah, they want air fights and the flying as a tactical tool for battles, thats why they made it like that. It's just that 1min isn't enough for real fights or for gathering items in air. Would be better to have like 3min flight time, 3 min reuse.
Yea, in Abyss it will be unlimited time, which is kinda against the "flying should be something special".

They could have just made it like in Perfect World (I think that's what it was called), where flying takes up X mp every second. Later on you can get gear that makes you fly faster, but take more MP and such.

Anyway, the main site said it's supposed to come out on Q2-Q3 2008.

Hmm. Fancy animations covering up for a relatively simple combat system...Copypasta Korean MMO look and perspective...Extremely familiar UI...Action based (read: spam your skill hotkeys till mob dies) combat system...
