    Vertical Distortion lines on TV

My GF plays on PS3 and for a while now, our TV has been getting worse and worse about this problem. There are lines that flow upward slowly, either dark or light, and distort the area they cover. Its getting to the point of being very annoying and we've tried various things to get them to go away but they dont work. Any tips on how to get rid of them?

i get that exact probem with my PS2 fixed it by buying new wire for it(yellow red and white wires idk what you call them)

It also happens with the DVD player, so its not the hardwire themselves.

What kind of television do you have? Is it CRT, or HD, and if it's the latter, what type?

Are your DVD player and game systems connected through a switchbox or anything else?

Are there any lights or other possible sources of interference near your television?

Have you tried connecting the television to a completely different power source, as in another socket in the house?

    Is your house's electricity grounded?

Even though it happens with both your gaming system and DVD player, have you tried replacing any cabling nonetheless?

If it's a CRT(and CRTs are HD too!^^^^^) than it sounds like the magnets are in need of re-alignment, or possibly turning the TV a different direction can help.

If it's not CRT it could be a lot of things that likely aren't fixable without contacting the manufacturer.
