I want a super Red Crab!

Okay, so I've taken a couple of snapshots of the red crab in Tav, but I was wondering how effective I could make a crab, as in what sort of traits I should look for and how to raise it.

Anyone have any advice?

I'd definitely take pics until you can get Damage Resist Bonus as an innate trait. Then a standard defense build would probably be best for a crab. It's up to you how to mix and match Phalanx, Stoneskin, and Blink.

Depending on how your server's trends in champions is, you're going to want to build your crab to beat them. Fast attackers like Chigoes will die to Blaze Spikes. Defensive monsters will most likely lose to additional elemental damage (like Enfire). You might even want to just go ahead and make an army of crabs so that you can win any situation.

EDIT: Oh, those red ones are RDM/WAR? That's not so good...Try taking pictures of the ones in the river in Misareaux Coast and see if those are RDM/WAR also. As cool as the red crabs look, it probably would be best to have one that's a PLD main. But if you're really intent on the red crabs, you could just have fun with it and give it Black Magic Scrolls and Red Mage Traits.
