    Choppy Video in FFXI

I'm not too computer friendly but I've been messing around with this new computer and although I've been able to get FFXI to finally run, I can't seem to get the video working properly. The video is very choppy, pauses for a second and then continues, and then pauses etc. I checked with the compatibility on the video card and it looks like it should work. Used that "can you run it" site but not sure it's entirely reliable. The video card is ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1800. Computer is XPS M22010 with intel centrino and windows vista 32 bit. CPU is Intel Core2 T7600. Any help is much appreciated.

Didn't see that option in BIOS. Closest thing I saw related to it was something about disabling dual processor. Tried that out but that just made it worse heh. Can cpu frequency be accessed through another method?

Well it's been suggested to try disabling all HIDs in device manager but that didn't work. FFXI is still choppy/stuttering. Also disabled UAC and no go. Tried disabling QoS Packet Scheduler as well and no effect. Also tried running in XP/2000 compatibility mode. Nope nope nope. Any more suggestions out there?

Problem fixed! Thought I'd post just in case another person experiences this. Turns out it was the anti-virus program, PC_cillian, that was causing the stuttering and whatnot. Uninstall and reboot made FFXI run smoothly. Switched to AVG for anti-virus, which does not interfere with FFXI. Now I can finally play the game....
