Downloading files problem

Hope someone can help with a problem I've been having with Firefox. When i try to download a file, like a game demo or new application, i only get 2 files a .exe and a .exe.part. Neither does anything. I am using Version 3.0.5 and the usual add-ons, flashblocker, addblocker plus and No script. Thx.

When the download completes, it should merge into an actual file which is not the .part file. Are you waiting long enough for the download to complete before opening?

Game demos can be quite large.

Yeah, they never go together. Looking at the Downloads menu it says "This download has been blocked by your security zone policy". Any idea what that means?

In that case I believe it's possible that:

1. Firewall
2. Antivirus
3. Firefox somehow inherited your PC's permissions, i.e. the Parental Control permissions

Yeah i got it sorted, was a problem with my internet settings Thanks for trying to help though and i always enjoy your laps on Topgear
