So!
My older sister gave birth to her first child, a beautiful little boy, on Wednesday (Welcome to the world, Cayden!) but as he was a bit premature (about three weeks) he is still in the hospital and probably will be for the next few days; he's got slightly premature lungs still, and although he's stable and doing well, they have to keep him there a few more days to make sure all is well and give him the best start possible. She's been at the hospital since the birth as well but is most likely getting discharged later tonight or tomorrow sometime.
I went up to visit her as soon as I found out, as did the father's family and friends, and generally she's had a lot of support (flowers, gifts, cards, balloons, you name it) but she still seems to be kinda down in the dumps- of course, she just squeezed a watermelon out of a vending machine, and she probably just isn't feeling well, but with him not being in tiptop shape and (with her personality) being stuck in the hospital I'm sure is just making her feel bleh, support or not.
Sooo.. I love my sister to death, and just wondering what I could maybe do / bring her / do for her that might really cheer her up, make her feel a bit better, etc. I don't really want to get something she already has (more balloons, yay) so I'm kinda at a loss as far as that goes, but just something that might brighten up her day. If there's any moms around, just wondering what little things really made you shine, what really screams 'thoughtfulness', I figure you'd be the best to ask. Any other tips would be great tooI brought her and her husband out to a nice dinner the night before (baby probably wanted to get out ASAP so I could take him out too!) so that was good timing, but I want to make sure she doesn't slip into postpartum depression or anything of the sorts.
So I come to you, brainstorming BG minds! Hit me with your tips![]()
