Need some advice, Level Sync

Greetings fellow fandangos,

I'd just like to inquire about some advice pertaining to skilling up after particular level synced parties. I have just returned from a prolonged break I had from the game and have been able to enjoy this wondrous feature. I have been able to go from level 37 to (Presently) 58 in some 2-3 days, and I am really enjoying the fact that I don't have to wait forever to get a party. The problem is that all of my skills are now horribly underleveled. I just was in a 55~ party in Wajaom a few hours ago, I couldn't hit the bird worth shit! I am lacking in raw skill and I do not know what to do. I have tried skilluping on Fortifications and I was successful, up until LV50 that is. Now I am L56 and essentially 5~6 levels below the cap for my skills. (I am a warrior, and thus I have to keep both Axe and GAxe at cap.) It is very embarassing playing in a party that is my natural level and being so gimp, not because of my gear, but because of my skill.

Does anybody have some suggestions on how I can get my skills back up to par? I read that it is only possible to get skill-ups from mobs that are at or around your level, and i'm not sure if I can solo L55~ mobs as WAR. I appreciate the advice.

Join skillup parties, usually people do them farming a key or a test or something. Or just shout and make one if you want, I'm sure there are others with same problem as you that need to skill.

Having just done this exact same thing myself about a week ago, best suggestion I can give is to focus on G axe and stick it out. Your skill level will get closer to cap faster than your exp will around that level, so you'll even out after 2-3 parties worth of play as long as you stick to Birds/ToAU groups. It sucks, but it's one of the few draw backs that level sync brings.

Alternatively, if you have dancer sub leveled, you can solo reasonable well against EP mobs and bring your skill up between parties, but you'll still stop a bit below cap on them. Once you hit 60 and get Retaliation / Curing Waltz II, you can move up to DC and maybe EM. You can get skill ups and full tp off of Retaliation counters, so you can burn through the rest of your lacking skills pretty quick after that. I was doing pretty well on the bats near the exit of Bostaunieux Oubliette at 60~61, but I'm sure there's somewhere less obscure then that you could go to.

Well, I believe these are your options:

A. Form a skill up party
B. Skill up via besieged (Note: This may be difficult at your current level)
C. Skill up while EXPing (Note: You'll be doing less damage but actually getting a decent return for your time used)

I highly recommend C, under the condition you to put a minimum sync level when looking for party at a level where you can comfortably do damage while skilling up at the same time. This way you will not sacrifice your time or your parties efficiency.

Skill up parties would be your best bet or just soloing mobs that are around your skills level to raise it. Either works - it's what I did for my WAR and DRG when they fell behind. Besieged is also good or hitting mobs in Campaign w/o tags.

Level DNC to 37, and sub it.

Find the appropiate crabs.

Every good thing has a downside and I knew this was levelsyncs the second I saw what it can do.

Like the others have said, just make a skillup party or find a level sync party more along the lines of your skill, also stop accepting invites by the 10's unless your a lowdemand class.

Basically when your at the X4's 14, 24, 34 ect dont take partys below 10, 20, 30, ect it makes capping skills easy.

On a side note mages have this the easiest, do besieged and spam dia/stone/bio on everything for your skillups.

I leveled WAR pre the 2hand update, and I'm just at the point where I'm finishing it off. Fortunately, my Sword is capped from PLD and RDM~ I just stuck with Axe til 73, then I'm using a Fort Axe to skill my GA~ Kinda gimp but it works well~

I'd skill your GA over Axe though, doing it a 2nd time round. Axe will take 1/4 the time your GA will to skill up. You use Sturmwind til RR anyways, so just keep at it. It'll cap fast in a exp pt. Just spam sushi (crab is good and cheap).

Same as above. Go /dnc and go fight stuff that will give skill ups.
