New laptop, don't want to reinstall

So the wife got a new laptop, and I'd rather not have to swap out all the CD's to get FFXI installed.... Can I just copy the whole FF directory from my machine (xp) and put it on her machine (vista) and move over the registry, too, or do I have to put up with the bullshit of a 487CD install and then updates?

I figured that at worst, I would do the install on her machine and then copy all the files over so we wouldn't have to do a huge-ass update...

install xi the copy over the files from your other computer to her computer minus POL, when you run xi it will install the files and voila
