What determines Charm's bind success/duration on non-charmable mobs?

Last time I was playing around with BST in campaign, I could gather a decent amount of hate on mobs if I spammed charm on them. The duration and success rate of it varied greatly however. So, I am curious to see if anyone has done any sort of testing regarding this. Is it based off CHR or just hit-and-miss sort of deal?

Ooof.. thats an interesting question. I've always noticed that myself, but never gave any real thought on what causes it. Im pretty sure that it's either random, CHR, or Charm+ based.

CHR affects resist rates in normal situations, and Charm+ affects charm duration, so they both kinda sound like viable answers. Though I may lean towards CHR more.

But yeah, no hard evidence, and I cant recall any testing ever done.

That is good question. I normally do not attempt to charm/bind uncharmable enemies, but I have noticed the duration lasting from as short as 1 second to a long as 5-7 seconds. I never gave much thought as to what causes the variation. I would assume its just a normal resist. It would be interesting if there was a build you could make to increase the duration reliably.
