Where do you do your best thinking?

For me, it's in the shower. I am not really sure why, but if I have a problem I'm trying to solve, I usually get in the shower. If its something like a math problem I just get a bar of soap and write the problem out on my shower wall.. Weird I know, but this made me wonder if other people have weird things like this that they do when they're stuck.

Yup, while lying in bed trying to fall asleep is when my brain finally isnt going crazy from lots of visual stimulation, and just goes thought crazy. Sort of dangerous actually, usually takes me a good 1hr+ to fall asleep.

I've got a few places actually. When I'm in the shower because I'm in a totally relaxed environment, while I'm lying in bed because it's so damn comfy. Or when I'm taking a gigantic shit on the toilet. Nothing beats taking dump and thinking about life.

There is this place not too far from my moms house where I grew up called Sobriety Fields, supposedly if you were fucked up on anything, regardless of how fucked up you were if you walk to the end of it and back you will sober up. Anyway, during the spring and summer months the field is a breeding ground for fireflies. There is this nice stone wall all along it. The field also goes down hill from the start slightly, so you can see the whole thing. Anyway during those months its pretty amazing to just sit out there and watch the field glow and watch the sunset. I've done a lot of great thinking and spent many great times there with my friends, and even better ones with my ex-fiancee. It's a great place.

Running (hells yes, bringing sports to a Senoska topic). Reason for this is that running is a right-brain activity and daily activites and distractions generally keep me locked in left-brain mode. It opens up new perspectives I may not have seen otherwise.

In the Pub sat alone, doesnt happen often usually if i get there 10-15 mins before my buddies, but my brain works overtime.

Id also have to second the "Just before i go to sleep thing" when i was at school/college, after a night of video games, upon going to bed my mind would go crazy, after an hour or so of trying to sleep, i would end up doing heaps of back dated work all through the night, just to go to school the next day without sleeping a wink

When I'm driving ; all I'm doing when I drive is driving and singing, so I can talk to myself out loud and work through things and not be looked at funny.

Me too!! Half the good stuff from my thesis was developed while I was driving. I think it's because you're sort of focusing your thoughts on something physical (driving) leaving the rest of your brain to focus on other things. Only problem is it's hard to write things down while you're driving
