New ISP, router problems.

I just received the new materials to hook up my new internet connection. DSL at&t. So far I got I've got my computer & my bro's directly connected to the modem/router (it's a 2 in 1 combo it seems) and my mom's and sister's connected wirelessly. The problem comes with my pawpaw's computer.

His computer is all the way across the house and at some point my gmaw got a new computer so he went and bought a router. We ran a 50ft ethernet cable from my router to his router and connected my gmaw's and pawpaw's computer with his router. That was before DSL and it worked perfectly.

Now that we've got DSL something is happening with the routers. His computers will not connect to the internet At first we were receiving a "third party router is trying to access your network" however after following the instructions to fix it (click resolve and then done) everything worked except his and her computer still.

Possible your old ISP was cable and the new one is PPPOE(require username + password to log on?)

or vise versa?

I'm not sure what you mean. The old ISP was cable the new one is DSL and doesn't require a log in to access the internet (it's same as cable basically cept uses a phone jack)

From what I understand you are hooking 3 routers together.

It also seems that the modem/router has 3 ports (1 for the phone line and 2 for ethernet)

You have 3 routers so you do not use the internet port unless you can switch that over to a normal port. The blue are the wires between the routers. The empty ports can be used for normal computers. I also suggest turning off dhcp on the 2 routers that are not the modem. Good luck.

There's only 2 routers. The "modem" is a router. I ditch'd my old router.

I hate to ask the obvious but when adding a new router/computer/whatever to the modem directly we have to reset the modem itself so it registers that MAC instead. Have you tried resetting your modem? You may also need to use the diagram since you are hooking a router to a router. Disabling DHCP on one of the two routers may also help.

If none of this helps then contact your ISP to see if they can help. If you do get it working tell me what worked so I know for future reference.

Already talked to my ISP and they said they weren't experts in 'that situation' but I'll try some stuff tomorrow and see wut happens.

They aren't experts? Uh get them to transfer you to a real IT Guy. Or just keep asking for managers until you get someone that knows what the fuck they are talking about.
