Kotaku - GameStop's "Huge Sale" Does Indeed Seem Huge - GameStop

As you know, GameStop have kicked off a big, big summer sale, with $100 Guitar Hero World Tour band kits just the start. Those looking for smaller boxes can also find a ton of great games, all for under $20.

GameStop are advertising that there will be "thousands" of games for sale under $20, and while they probably mean units of stock rather than actual titles, there's still some good bargains to be had.

Some of the sub-$20 games include:

Spore
Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway
Force Unleashed
LEGO: Batman
Prince of Persia
Infinite Undiscovery
Chrono Trigger
Bionic Commando
Assassin's Creed

And plenty more. Also, it's worth noting the crazy Guitar Hero deal is only for a limited time, with the offer due to expire on July 12. After that, there'll be two more "major offers", one from July 15-17 and one from July 22-25.

Chrono Trigger and maybe Assassin's Creed are the only ones in that list that interest me. Anyways, just a heads up in case anyone is interested.

Prince of Persia for me. Found it at a local Walmart for $29 recently, but opted not to pick it up. Obviously the next time I went there their little stock-sale was over. ;/

I need to be less picky when I see games like that for cheap that I'd only actually purchase when they're that low.

Assassin's Creed I already see everywhere for $18 in bargain bins.

20 for prince of persia isn't bad, I really enjoyed that game although I'm not sure how much replay value I'll get out of it.

I keep saying it but I really liked Infinite Undiscovery, it's nothing over the top special but for 20 bucks it's a nice rpg to play for a bit.

Am I the only one who thinks some of these games are gonna be 20 bucks (like assassin's creed) at most places soon anyway? Stuff like lego batman and force unleashed have already gone on sale for less than 20 this year.

Anyway yea most of those are appropriately priced and worth picking up, part of me is contemplating picking up the GOTY edition of Oblivion for ps3 even though I already own it for PS3 and will more than likely never replay it.

edit: and Chrono Trigger should have been 19.99 when it was released, S-E needs to knock it off with this annoying ass habit of releasing DS games at $39.99 when no one else is.

edit edit: 19.99 crisis core isn't horrible (even though I disliked the game), and I'd consider 17.99 de Blob and 19.99 Deadly Creatures if I owned a wii.

I actually liked Infinite undiscovery. It did have some moments that were weird, but the item synthesis system was really cool, and the way battles were done was great. I would not rank it as game of the year, but certainly something worth at least giving a try.

You're right. The flyers are for the 50% off select used games that starts on Monday.

I didn't see the flyers, then again I didn't go through my whole kit yet. Just pulled my $20 SKU list and marketing for it and going to leave the rest of the shit to sort through Sunday.

Semi decent list... Its better then GDS lol... Hit and miss with titles. Theres a lot of titles that went down to $20 that aren't on the sales list either.

Does the sale have anything to do with the red sticker prices I've been seeing at EBGames lately? I know white is new, yellow is used, no idea wtf red is for, but it's all been on stuff <$30.

We had our $20 games out today, and I think yesterday as well. I'd pick up Chrono Trigger if a friend didn't already let me borrow it long enough to beat it completely.
