Sorry if this was already posted elsewhere, I felt it was interesting and there's nothing on the toppage about it.

DEVELOP 100: THE WORLD'S MOST SUCCESSFUL GAME STUDIOS

"Develop 100 ranks the world's most bankable games development studios based on a variety of key criteria including sales data, critical success and industry standing."

This data is interesting, SE ranks 44th out of 100, beating companies like Bungie, NamcoBandai, Rare, and Koei, but getting beat out by a lot of big names.

Is it no surprise that Blizzard tops the list?
If nothing else, it kills a good 5 minutes of boredom, haha.

Makes me wonder why their GTA pc ports suck so much dick.

Also yeah, I expected to see valve in the top 5, as they pretty much revolutionized the way I buy and play pc games.

Top 100 lists are always 95 entries too long and these assholes found a way to pocket some money doing it. Nice work.

Multiple EA-brand studios ftl. I don't even know what half of them produce outside of EA mythic making the failure that is warhammer.

It's a shame because this list is in no way representative of the quality of the games which are in production. For example, EA is only whoring the top rankings because it mass produces shit year in year out which sells to the masses, where as Bungie and Crytek are lower down, only because they spend more effort in developing good platforms for which games are developed on, rather than pumping out games at a rate of 10 per week.

I'd much prefer to see a user generated user satisfaction poll, with multiple results for stuff like quality of service, interraction with fans, etc. because I think that's where it matters most in terms of the end user, not the amount the companies turn over every year.

anyone who's actually interested in video games can probably tell you that most of this list is simply based off of sales and, as stated above, not quality of the production of games

simply because you make 20 new guitar hero games every year and people eat that shit up like crack doesn't mean you're innovative, progressing anything or even making good quality of games, just sales.

although there is something to say about how many games people do actually buy even if to most they're shit

Was satisfied to see Kojima higher up on the list. For a company that hasn't been around long and focusing on one game they have done well for themselves.

Valve releases games too slowly to be much higher than that. If it wasn't for Blizzard having WoW I doubt they'd be any where close to #1.
