Xbox Chip
So my original finally gave up. (Well the disk drive did at least) It went thru about 3 mail in fixes for rrod and had always given me slight problems every now and then with reading a disk. But it looks like the old boy doesn't have any left in him.
So since its :ahem: "altered" already i may just try to replace the disk drive BUT I'm still looking into a new elite for the storage and such. So how can i tell I'm getting one of the newer cooler chips inside?

if you buy one in the store just look at the manufacturing date, all of them should be unless they had some really really old ones sitting around, and dont buy a goty edition 360 elite, those are older systems most of the time.

Those the ones packing halo 3 and fable? Im buying from a mom n pop place. I figure they would have more old ones
