Galaxy Online - Free Strategy Online Game
follow the instructions, if you already have an account just login and paste the key and select the server (leo i hope
)
doing this allows you to get the permenant mall point bonus of being able to get 25 total planets (scroll down the mall points list and you'll see it) and you can use the rest of the points to fill out your home area with untouchable planets with increasing building limits with each one you place FOR FREE.
EXTREMELY USEFUL
update ^ : getting the extra mall points for free, allows you to get the extra planets for 34 mall points i talked about earlier, and you can use the planet generator to use up the last 26 mp left over and get 13 total untoucheable planets.

Can't say I played EVE and what my friend told me about EVE I couldn't quite understand...
I saw this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3LSTeINV1o
Have to say, it sounds really political in-game and possibly corruptive depending which faction you join. The PVP concept sounds really interesting which would be my main winning point. Again, my concern is it sounds like you have to deal with drama and people instead of being your "own man." Correct me if I am wrong anywhere, just going by the video so far.

truthfully i just started like 10 minutes before i posted this. in about an hour i got the hang of it and i'm building stuff and building ships.
what the video says could be true, but i haven't gone out of my home area just yet.
even if it is, i dont think it would bother me much outside of people being douches just for the sake of it and even then if enough people here played we could make a BG corp and we could help each other if needed.
as far as it being like eve, i just meant the way it's in space and the freedom you have with ship building and enhancements and the like. beyond that i dont know anything about eve either.

Ah, fair enough. Heading to bed now but if you could update later whenever with your impressions before I give it a go (plenty to do this monday and upcoming wednesday so won't have much time to try it out yet)
-
well as far as first impressions go, i'll say this.
i can't play traditional mmo's anymore, like ffxi or wow style kill>exp>eq/quests> rinse repeat; BUT i'm enjoying this game quite a bit.
if i had to describe it, it would be like an awesome flash game pumped up on a massive dose of steroids with a multiplayer ability.
It's very low maintenance so you could theoretically just set it and forget it as it were.
at least on the order of getting minerals/gas/population and being able to build buildings and ships while you sleep so when you wake up you could have a ton of ships built if you wanted.
If anyone didnt read it yet, i updated the first post with a great way to help out a starting player.
