Swapping hdd modes

So my laptop came with vista on it and after a few months I decided to install xp on to a separate partition. Doing so, I obviously needed to switch to ata from ahci. A few months later, I swapped back to vista full time. It's been 1.5 years now since I have booted my comp into vista. If I were to change to ata again and boot into vista, would there be any problems if I were to reboot and swap back to ahci/vista? I need something on there but it's not a need if it fucks my computer up
