    Drag Me To Hell

Is there really not a thread for this? I couldnt find one.

Saw it tonight holy shit what a good horror movie. I'm pretty sure I squeezed my boyfriend's arm for 90% of the movie. Good story, slightly humorous at times I guess in a sick sorta way.

    Spoiler: show
poor kitten I also like how this wasn't given the stereotypical happy ending. The boyfriends face rofl poor guy

Sam Raimi was quoted as saying that he wanted to do another Evil Dead like film and make it work. It's a good break from those horrid Spider-Man films.

This film was great! Lots of loud noises made me jump, the film wasn't really scary most of the time, but it was hilarious. xD The opening with the kid was probably the most frightening.

    Best Bits!
    Spoiler: show
The bit where the Lamia coughs the kitten up / Mrs Ganush without her teeth trying to bite the woman and drooling all over her. xD

    End
    Spoiler: show
Kinda sad she died after all that, but I saw that button thing coming when she lost the envelope in the car.

Ok, went out and saw it. Definitely Sam Raimi. I'm on the fence though. I had a lot of fun with it, but I went in with inordinately high expectations.

    Ruling: Thumb up.

I took my girl to see it tonight and had a blast. The movie was a lot of fun and managed to have some scary parts in spite of the PG-13 rating. The theater we saw it in was really fucking rowdy. A lot of kids. Surprisingly it didn't ruin the experience.

I love that Raimi's car was back, but waited so long for that signature camerawork. I'm also wondering where the Ted Raimi/Bruce Campbell cameos were? Were they busy that day or something? Overall, a lot of fun.

Was wondering how long before someone picked up on the car being back. All in all I wasn't that impressed. It was a decent horror flick but I knew from the very start she was toast. Having watched so many horror movies in my life there wasn't a single scare in the movie that made me so much as twitch. But this makes up for the steaming pile of crap that was Spiderman 3.

The little homages they made to the Evil Dead movies were freaking hilarious. Flying eyeballs ftmfw.

I thought it was pretty good. Christine's character was very likable; and too bad it ended that way after all the shit she endured.

I don't know that it's technically a homage if you're referring back to earlier works in your life. I thought Alison Lohman was very good as the damsel in distress, but Justin Long was all over the place as, "D-bag boyfriend who comes around." He's too harmless to be really convincing as a jerk.

At first I was like "that SOB seems familiar, where the fuck have I seen him." Then I tell my gf, "that's the fucking apple guy." Never took him seriously after.

Also, I didn't like the ending because:

    Spoiler: show
It was pretty obvious Christine was gonna get fucked over after that scene when she lost the envelope for a second. The director had the chance to come up w/ a more elaborate ending and not as crappy for poor Christine

I really liked the way that he framed it with the quarter in the envelope earlier in the movie, but I agree that it was a little too telegraphed.
