Picked it up today (store in the Village is awesome). It's exactly what you're expecting. Grab it ASAP.

Just reading the title put this song in my head "Your love, keeps lifting me higher, HIGHER!"
Dammit!
wth I didnt even know one was made....<-retarded
Just came out, voiced and pushed forward by the actors and creators themselves so I'm sure the story should be entertaining. Takes place a few years after part 2.
I figured they'd push this closer to the release of part III. Looks like that's a few years away still. Being a huge fan of Ramis and the first movie, i have mixed feelings.
Oh, if you're an EU player and you own a 360 you'll be waiting a while.
Sony is publishing in the EU since Atari can't afford to and you're likely looking at an exclusivity period.
So how is it? Worth picking up or no?
I hadn't heard anything about it being released early. I'm wondering now if it's all stores or just a select few. Might have to call Gamestop some time today to find out.
Release date is next week, but there's a store in the East Village that gets games about a week ahead of time and gives them out to their preorder list immediately. No idea if Gamestop etc will have them early, but I can't imagine Atari's got different delivery dates for different companies.
If you're a fan of the series, it's 100% worth buying. The game was written by Aykroyd and Ramis, is set in 1991, contains a TON of references to the movies so far, and I'm only on the second level. The game has jumped a lot so far between heavy action and the spooky loneliness you'd expect in a game where you're hunting ghosts. Also, the character models are spot-on, and the actors themselves did the voice-acting.
I'll try to keep updating as I play through it.
Ah gotcha.
I payed this at comic con a while back. It was 100% badass and can encourage people to get it. It's fucking great.
i dont have an xbox OR a TV. but im buying this
Each mission is really long, but it seems like there may only be 5 or 6 in the storyline. I'm about to start the 4th. My only complaint is that the lip sync is off in many of the cutscenes. The personalities are all exactly the same as they were in the movies (though Venkman seems a little forced, idk what Bill Murray's deal was) and they still have that "We don't really know what we're doing" attitude.
So far, the missions have seemed to be more for nostalgia than story-building. However, it's done pretty well, and it seems like it's taking a turn on this next mission anyway. That being said, incoming spoilers...
Spoiler: show
Played a bunch of multiplayer as well. You can NOT play co-op campaign. Found that out the hard way =(. The multiplayer missions are fun though, and even on Easy they were fairly challenging. Also, being able to play as Egon made my day.
If you're a Ghostbusters fanboy, buy the game (not like I needed to tell you that anyway). If you're not a Ghostbusters fanboy, there's something wrong with you and you should probably see a doctor.
Anyone know a site that has quotes from the message machine back at the station? My god some of them were fucking hysterical. I think this one is my favorite and this is going based off of my memory...
"Hi this the library calling. We have black slime in our break room and it's speaking to us... I also think it's stealing money out of the vending machine."
Or...
"I have a toliet that is yelling at me, a sofa that is speaking to me and a stuffed teddy bear that has tourett's. Think you can help me?"
hahahaha... I love this game so much. I cannot wait for the movie now.
I read an interview with Dan Aykroyd (I think it was?), who said that this is the closest thing you'll get to a Ghostbusters movie sequel, and that "it is essentially the next Ghostbusters movie". I think I'll pick it up just for that!
But looking on IMDB, Ghostbusters 3 appears to be being released approx 2012? Weird.
Well, guess I'll be going out after work to pick this one up then.
Out Friday in the UK. Even though I enjoyed the movies, I always thought the cartoon series they made was just more entertaining. Extreme Ghostbusters was it?
Just picked this up! I still have Prototype to finish, but I'm probably gonna do some MP with my friends tomorrow.
