That's really unfair, I would LOVE this. I remember as a teenager (16,17) when the first 2 Monster Rancher games came out, my friends and I would have tournies to see who had the best monsters. It was usually me, cause back then I happened to have a lot of the good cd's the great monsters came from. The PS2 versions were great as well. They gotta bring this to PS3 D:

And here I was afraid that Monster Rancher 5 killed an amazing series for good. I guess that merger saved Tecmo, huh?

Either way, if it ever comes out in English, I will definitely be picking this up, but playing a game I don't understand just ruins it for me, so I will not be picking it up if it remains JP only.

Only thing I remember about the first game is almost getting to the tournament that gives you an item to breed a dragon if you win but my monster died like a week before

that sucked. also hengers.

I remember going through about 200 CDs my dad had on the first game, and writing down which gave each monster lol.

I remember trying a lot of CDs and the game telling me the monster couldn't be unlocked because I had to beat all the tournaments and become a master rancher or whatever it was you were in the game.

The furthest I got was B rank then my monster died of old age... ¬_¬

Monster Rancher 1 and 2 were down right awesome games. I had entire stacks of garbage CDs I swiped from everyone in the house and kept a book of which CD gave what mob. I still remember my two favorite Monsters, a Tiger/Plant mix who had tons of HP and a Pixie/Tiger who liked her lightning spells.

Shame this is JP only, if they could bring an Online Monster Rancher to the PS3 it would be potentially epic.

i actually have monster rancher 2-5 atm. only one i'm missing is 1. monster rancher online doesn't look all that impressive cept for the free for all battle it showed there.

The console games were great although 3 drove me nuts. took me ages to figure out how to make my monsters turn into the different region types. The region type idea sucked. part of the fun of the other games was monster fusion to mix em together.

btw dragons and durahan's > everything else.

I remember playing litterally every game even including the card games on GBA haha. Man this was a superb series. It sucks that #5 blew soo much. Tbh they should have just updated the graphics on MR2 and reboxed it lol
