Never heard of them... certainly don't recognise the name from any of the major HNM ls's. So either didn't participate heavily in endgame or it is a name change.

There is a FFXIah history for Kaimilani for Lakshmi which the last entry was Nov 2008.

Was on Lakshmi a while back, transferred to Bismarck to play with friends supposedly. He wasn't involved in any sort of drama, but I can confirm that he was, in fact, a Lakshmi native. He wasn't in any big LS's (social, missions), which could be the reason he doesn't remember them well. He did sea missions with my friend Fledfire, and when I helped out with them, he was always a nice guy. Pretty energetic, too. Sadly, under cap 60 and a Tenzen zerg fight, I can't attest much to his skill if that's what you're looking for.
