Internet Trolls rejoice! It was creepy in a Chris Hanson kind of way that she made an eboyfriend to harass that girl. But it wasnt her fault she killed herself.

Let's be honest. The woman who did this has been living a nightmare since that girl killed herself. A conviction would only mean she's spared from having to deal with the public for a little while. I think it's better that she's out in the world. Where people constantly insult, degrade, essentially torment this woman on a daily basis. With good reason. This bitch will get what's coming to her. It's called a lifetime of pain because she couldn't let kids be kids and had to interfere.

I was going to say this is a travesty and the bitch should have gone to lesbian rape prison, but... I like this better.

Whould you know it was her if you saw her on the street? Should she wear a Scarlet letter?

Drew was convicted in November, but the judge said that if she is to be found guilty of illegally accessing computers, anyone who has ever violated the social networking site's terms of service would be guilty of a misdemeanor.

"You could prosecute pretty much anyone who violated terms of service," he said.
    Think of the precedent.

Also I agree with the dead girl mom MILFness.

Her community will know her. Hopefully her neighbors will treat her as the waste of a human being she is.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

this whole issue makes me sick. The major problem of course, is there have been few cases (and mostly recent (ie past 10 years) of cyberbullying of this magnitude. Courts don't know how to handle it because there's no law against it. Hopefully even if this woman doesn't get jail time, that it'll be the step towards trying to protect those in the future against this.

I personally wouldn't be able to recognize her. But look at the neighborhood they lived in when this first came out in the news. They had windows broken, death threats, phone calls at all hours of the night, etc. People are insane over this verdict and the shit this woman pulled. The second they move it's going to be found out about. Which is kind of why prison would be a blessing for her. Outside she's going to deal with this until she finally ends up snapping and kills herself. Which is probably going to happen sooner or later. Until that time, she's going to sit there and live in fear for her family, her home, and her life. Because she contributed to this girl ending her own life.

When I first read about the charges I was happy that she could possibly end up in jail. Then I read about the things that are being done to her and her family since all this happened. The more I think about it, the more that I am happy she isn't going to jail. I want this woman to live with the constant fear that some nutjob out there may take things into his or her own hands. I want this woman to live with this stigma for the rest of her life. It's just my opinion, but this woman needs to pay for what she did. The best way to do that is to leave her out for the public.

So what if it was another kid that messed with that girl? Have you ever told someone to go kill themselves? Didn't someone actually kill themselves after posters todl him too?

People that treat cyberbullying like real bullying need to be stabbed in the face for how fucking retarded they are. The big difference between real bullying and this cyber nonsense is that the "victim" can turn it off whenever they want. Don't like getting harassed on facebook? Don't use facebook. AIM messages making you go nuts? Uninstall. Everything was in this little girl's hands, and she opted to kill herself instead of not giving a fuck. And I'll take the ban if need be, but this is a classic case of darwinism. She was clearly not the strongest of her kind.

This is the most retarded thing I've ever read.

A girl I work with here had someone create a myspace and use all these personal pictures of her and posted her phone number all up on it, with some horribly nasty shit about her. She had all kinds of guys calling her before she could figure out what was going on. Guess she should have just turned it off...

I helped her convict that guy by getting his temp internet files off his work PC, and he spent 2 weeks in fucking jail lol.

There's a lot of armchair psychology going on in the thread, actually, but your post is particularly crufty.

Sure is fun to make fun of people with dead kids, right Innernet Tuffguy?

Did you even bother reading what happened, or are you just as retarded as you seem? The girl didn't know it was all a joke until the very end, because the mother pretended to be some dude who had "fallen in love" with her. After she had apparently fallen for this dude who didn't exist, he told her that "the world would be better without her." So how the fuck is she going to stop using Facebook or stop using AIM when she doesn't even know whats going on? You stupid fuck.

what? I don't get this post at all. why should someone be denied access to facebook, myspace, their private email, or whatever else because some asshole wants to harass them? that's a horrible solution to their problem. that's like saying "oh, you're being bullied at school? go to a different school! avoid them in the hallways, take different classes!"

I call bullshit on this. yes, cyber-bullying and regular bullying are different, but your post is a horrible explanation of how they are. and cyber-bullying can be far worse than regular bullying given how fast information spreads and how hard it can be to verify the truth - as in the case of Day's post above. I'd much rather be punched in the stomach at school than have all my friends and family see a page that was supposedly made by me that makes me look that bad.

QFT the ignorance of the poster above is astounding. If you get punched in school or pushed down you heal rather fast and the pain fades away. Internet/Cyber bullying can have long lasting effects and in some instances will NEVER go away even if you move/change schools and the original bully doesn't even want to bully you anymore. There is not some easy switch you can throw to get rid of shit on the internet and it can have a very real and shitty effect on your life.

    Yeah, pretty much this.

Dim, I agree with most of what you say but this wasn't a simple case of someone picking on someone or telling them to off themselves.

The mother and daughter worked on this girl for months all because of some snide comment she made.
