Demos came out today on Live/PSN and man, I am really impressed with the way the gameplay handles. Graphics are also very good as well. Can't wait until May 19th.

Downloaded the demo from PSN yesterday and im really happy with how it plays, the control is perfect, still havent figured out the submissions yet but so far I like it alot.

It's been years since I've last played a UFC title and I don't think I've ever played a good one. But pretty much everybody on my PSN has been playing this Demo so I think I'll be giving it a go. I hope the Create-a-Fighter is deep.

I did once, no clue how I did to be quite honest though...just happened.

My first fight in the demo I came out swinging a few punches, I landed three then the guy kicked me in the fucking head and I was out. I couldn't stop laughing at how short the fight was.

The demo is pretty fun. I was disappointed that I punched the opponent in the head like 3 times and he was out. But, advanced takes care of that little problem, actually it turns it around on me. The one problem I had with THQ games, that I also have with this one, it's not always apparent what the commands are doing. When you're grappling on the ground or trying to fight the guy off, none of the buttons seem obviously effective. Almost like there is some invisible meter that you have to fill before you start acting. It's cool though, better than I expected.

I've probably played about 100 matches (no joke) so far and now I can pretty much always get a first round KO as Liddell before the 2:30 mark on Advanced (Expert wrecks me though, he's like a god damn spider). I haven't tried playing with Shogun yet. There are a few main things that get on my nerves and I hope are fixed by the time the retail copy comes out:

• It's way too easy to knock the other guy out. Granted I'm using a heavy striker, but I've KO'd him as soon as 4:47 (yes, 13 seconds on Advanced), and 99% in the first round. Flash knockouts are cool and all, but when they happen ALL the time it's more of a "damnit I have to restart this" moment than "OHHHHHHHHH!!".
  
• More decisions! I've only REACHED the third round maybe 3-4 times, and have gone to a decision ONCE when I was just showboating the in octagon throwing light jabs and hooks for 15 minutes trying to see how badly I can mess up his face. He landed maybe 2 takedowns and a couple leg kicks on me versus my 50+ punches and somehow I won with all 3 judges scoring it 29-28 lol.
  
• FUCKING FULL MOUNT! I'm mother fucking Chuck Liddell, if I'm not 100% guarding and blocking all grapple attempts that bastard mounts (full mount, not half or side guard) me in 5 seconds flat. Tone that shit down. Granted Shogun is a BJJ fighter, but still. It sucks because I get "rocked" or whatever the term they use in the game really easily. I just have to pray my escape attempt works. Which brings me to...
  
• Escaping on your back. The concept and execution of doing so is fine, but they really picked a bad control scheme for doing it. When you're getting your face beaten in to go at a 45 degree angle on the joystick and sweep in a half circle back to the middle is quite hard and the game wants exact precision on that shit or else you'll just waddle there like an idiot.

I know that's a lot of bitching, but I REALLY like this game and will be day 1'ing it for sure. A couple tweaks here and there and it'll be really enjoyable for constant replay. I've still yet to play with 2 human players so I wonder what it's like then. Probably funner.

Played against a few of my buddies yesterday. Seems like it's going to be a great game. I think it's funny to see some of the moves take place (like an upkick from the ground) because the opponents head bops back.

Haha. I'm torn between getting it for 360 and PS3. Currently leaning towards PS3 because an RL buddy of mine and I are both really into MMA and he keeps talking about this game all the time (he has a PS3). If I were to get it for 360 he'd probably be really choked at me haha (and plus, it's easier to escape grapples with the PS3 joysticks >_>).

I say go for ps3 as well. I like the controlls more for a game of this type.
