    Acer Aspire AS8930-6442 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T6400(2.00GHz) 18.4" Wide XGA+ 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT

I was planning to buy it but it got deactivated. If they probably won't restock then where else could i get this laptop?

It probably got replaced by something with a one digit difference in model number.

    Deactivated items are rarely restocked.

The only retailer (at least, online) that Acer's website lists as having it is Newegg. Of course, they also list it as "In Stock", which is obviously isn't.

There's a step-up model from it, but that one isn't listed for any online retailer...

Particular reason you'd want -that- machine? My experience with non-Netbook Acers has been...not good.

very very very good model..... The blue's seems to be working great...
Check amazon if you want, they might have it. If they do not offer that model
you may look at at AS6930 (with blueray) and it would probably run you close to the same
    if not a little less.

Isiola what acer models have you had trouble with?

Acer actually has a lower failure rate than those of HP and Dell...

We'd bought two each of a couple different Travelmate models a couple years ago or so as loaners - $700ish or whatever machines at the time, so certainly not high end. Still, they look cheap, feel cheap, and only one or two of them actually still work.

I mean, I've seen plenty of Dells and HPs with problems too, as I have (literally) stacks of them in the office, but the Acers did not leave me with the desire to buy more from them. The fact that their brand portfolio now includes Gateway, eMachines, and Packard Bell (outside the US) only cements that.

acer didnt get good at making notebooks until about a year ago when they basically made the netbook, realized it was a good product and slowly expanded it
