    Scouting the Ashu Talif

    I've been trying to clear this little event for a while now and, my static has a few issues with MP that should be easly fixed if they'd be willing to dig a little in there pocket to buy meds, basic shit like Hi-Ethers or Yag Drinks.

    Currently trying this with.

    BLM/RDM
    BLM/RDM
    BLU/NIN
    THF/NIN
    SCH/WHM
    PLD/WAR

    first attempt yielded us to wave 14.
    second attempt we dropped one of our BLM that fucked up badly and got to 20, but that replacement is now on vacation and away from the game.

    we attempted tonight and got back to 14...

    the THF is thinking about holding off on the quest till he finishs black mage to 75 and kicks the retarded blm that likes to fucking aggro everything when gathering up for the NM nuke.

    the THF is leading the group and his ideal setup that he wants to work with is.

    BLM/RDM
    BLM/RDM
    BLU/NIN
    BLU/NIN
    SCH/WHM
    PLD/WAR

    this way, when we get up to waves 10+ we can split both the blm and the blu on the opposite side of the stairs and easly take a split pull rather trying to hord them all up 1 set of stairs.

    but what I was thinking about

    as our basic setup, paladin runs down and aggros and thf is ready on other side to collect imps for AoE WS and solo.

    but I'm unsure if this would really work and I was wondering if anyone could get me some feedback or some insight about clearing this because trial and error can only go so far before it gets to the point of wanting to rip off a babys head

    For our run we just had BLUs and BLMs with on RDM. Mostly BLUs though because they're must better at taking damage and have more HP.

    I figured as much, the blu in our group with frypan is able to take down a good chuck of the group in AoE range to about 25~30% leaving a Ga 2 at the mercy of the crew that is pulled, aside from the rangers, they like to get missed out on both Frypan and Ga's leaving for slow work of the melee :\

    rdm x 2
    blm or blu x 4

    can easily win it + kill boss

    CS + thunder III x 2 when boss pop

    every other thing is aoe from blu or blm

    we did it a few times with brd/whm, rdm/blu, mnk/blu. use 2H each time you can and you win. Otherwise 2 healers and 4 dds idk how you can lose with 6 lol.

    Note: we dont kill the imp NM, need blm or blu for that.

    Definitely don't need meds for this. If you have a blu you should be set. I have cleared this BC for multiple groups (we have 3 barb zerehs in our current static, to give you an idea) have been doing this bc off and on for a long ass time.

    Latest and most "skeleton" setup we had win was:

    blu mnk rdm blm blm whm (rdm and mnk being dualed)

    Tips

    -we always skip the NM, screw him, just get some dmg on him(disseverement or T3 nuke or something) so as to make sure he leaves asap, and bring echos in case he decides to be a homo and silence everyone.

    -use the meds provided, ur gonna get replenished a lot so pop those as soon as u need em...

    -IMO its all about the blu...

    -the blu should have more than frypan equipped for AOE... at least use battle dance as well, battle dance has a really nice mp/dmg ratio (edit. and super low timer). Throw in other things too like body slam and grand slam for example. Serieously the blu can practically solo the weak formor waves (frypan+battle dance then pick of stragglers with feather storm etc). And finally 100% equip feather storm, great for picking off stray enemies from the waves in the situation as noted above, awesome mp/dmg ratio and it can get that mob that's beating down the blm off them in a hurry

    Use of body slam/hip press etc should be restricted to situations when he has alot of mp and the items are going to repop soon etc. They aint the greatest but its better than having a blm die cause they popped on him. Blu should use genbu sheild and a taco if possible. keep up phalanx 2+cocoon on him and he can take hits no problem, couple cure bombs here and there from whm and he should be fine.

    -Blu should focus on takeing agro on everything, always protect the weak mages, like i said if u need to drop a body slam while timers are ticking on battle dance etc throw down on the mobs if they are attacking mages, mages die and u prolly gonna die.

    -blm and rdm should focus on support nuking. Blm t2 aga and rdm+blm tier 3 nukes on imps that pop in the waves. blu should use frenetic rip / disseverment etc to rape imps fast, they need to die asap. RDM should keep refresh up as well..

    -DD's with circle blade style weapons skills can be subbed in for the mnk. I like mnk cause hes a hp tank and can eat random ancient magics and stuff. Mnk should just engage things and beat them down asap.. always target imps first, assume the blus aoes are going to hold/kill weaker fomors. Mnk should also keep an eye to mages if they get agro.

    -WHM cure bombs, try to use the hp > another members mp(usually going to blu) thing if possible, u can use the revitalizer after to recover the ability and use it multiple times. (same goes for mnks chakra ability and 2hrs etc...)

    Mages cannot rest and should stay on the stairs at all times. If your going to rest tell the blu and mnk so they can keep an eye on you cause your gonna agro the waves as they pop. avoid resting as much as possible, and stay on the stairs!! communicate, yell out if your getting hit, the blu is gonna be busy so he needs to know if your getting beat on. Only people down on deck (popping areas) is the blu and mnk and possibly the rdm at times if he runs down for various reasons.

    Basically sequence of events for a typical wave.

    Wave pops.

    -Mnk engages imps, blu pops frypan.
    -mnk kills imp, blu kills other imp(or uses another aoe depending on if he can survive the amount of mobs he has on him), mnk goes after remaining imps or fomors. Rdm and blms can help on imps as well, they should be prioritized on every pop.
    -blm aga I, II or III / blu battledance to finish remaining fomors. (blm shouldnt need to use tierIII aga but again its better than dieing if thats the situation.)
    -blms rdms and whms call out for help if they have agro. when this happens blu/mnk focus needs to immediately shift to protecting them with whatever spells they have timers up on.
    -whm keeps everyone alive.

    rinse, repeat. liberal use of the temp items provided/and other jas... no resting if possible. remember mages on stairs blu/dd on deck

    I hope that about covers it. I have won with pld as well but id rather have another DD or rdm or something if possible.

    nin subs are helpful cause when imps pop they like to open with AM

    u need luck as well, don't be frustrated i think the first time i tried this it too our set maybe 10 attempts to pass it (like 2 years ago so my blu was gimp at this point)

    you can replace your blms rdms blu by DDs, its not a problem, if you dont plan on killing the boss. 4 dds 1 brd 1 healer win np.

    On a side note, the wave order on ffxiclopedia is slightly inaccurate (they forgot one) around #14.
