Funnyish story.
My Grandma flew down with my parents for Thanksgiving. My wife was watching some DVR one of the days and my Grandma happened to watch BBT with her and she is now hooked on it. My Grandma doesn't watch a whole lot of TV but she asked that we call her every monday night to remind her that it is on

I watched part of it this week and was amused, and I have to ask: does it ever go beyond the geek stereotypes? Or does it just rely on the same old hackneyed caricatures that defined bad '80s teen movies?

It's pretty much geek stereotypes.

I didn't like this episode that much, but most of them are witty enough to keep me laughing.

Doesn't hold a candle to HIMYM, but it's funny enough to watch while waiting for the greatest comedy on TV.

I love it usually. Some episodes were amazing, while other were just lame nerd cliché, but it's funny more often than it's not.

One thing I hate is that most sciences joke disapeared after the first few episodes. There is still some good one occasionally, but it feels like it moved to nerd stuff over sciences.

My favorite scene was when they all decided to go to vegas...followed by the most disappointing scene...when Sheldon decided not to go. I'd of given anything to see Sheldon go to Vegas.

I think it's funny that one of my friends hates on the show because it's so popular now. I tried to get him to watch it when it first came out but he didn't care. As soon as it got popular and started getting TV spots he started to make fun of it. He's the kind of person who loves shitty video games because nobody else does and whenever something obscure he likes gets popular he flips his opinion and loathes it. Whenever I talk about BBT he says "Blah blah blah, obscure nerd joke. Blah blah blah canned laughter.", what a faggot.
