Have had this problem for an insanely long time now and found a solution but I can't find the SSID in the Registry Editor.

WUSB54GC: Transmit rate 1Mbps / Receive rate 54Mbps - Wireless Adapters - Linksys Community Forums

This is what has worked for me:

My Wireless Mode is "Infrastrucure", but I solved the problem this way:

* Open the LinkSys Wireless Network Monitor.
* Select Profiles tab.
* Press "Edit" to edit the default profile.
* Change the Wireless mode from "Infrastructure" to "AdHoc"
* Save the profile and connect to the network (no network was detected)
* Open the LinkSys Wireless Network Monitor again.
* Select Profiles tab.
* Press "Edit" to edit the default profile.
* Change the Wireless mode back from "AdHoc" to "Infrastructure".
* Change "Authentication" to "Auto".
* Save the profile and connect to the network

And I am trying to do this:

1. Open up registry editor (start->run->regedit)
2. Once you have made your profile in their crappy utility, click on the very top item in the panel on the left (my computer), then press Ctrl+f (for the find function)
3.Type in the name of your network (SSID) and click find.
4. When it finds a page, look for an item that says "TransRate", double click on it and type "54" (without the "" ), then click ok.
5. Now press F3 and repeat step 4. Until it displays the message "finished searching through registry."
6. Close registry editor.
7. re connect to your profile and you should now be transmitting at 54Mps.

Searching for my SSID brings up no results, searching TransRate also brought up no results. Is there another way to do this or am I over looking something? (Device Manager>My wireless adapter does not have an option for TransRate either.)

Thanks for any help.

Edit: The first solution has replies saying it was only temporary for them, which is why I want to do the second as well.
