Need help remembering a game title

I used to play this computer game with a friend a long ass time ago (probably 9-10 years atleast) that I thought was just the coolest thing ever. It was like a puzzle game that had a big setting where you could see pretty much everything and you had to move your guy around the map doing certain things to enable you to do other things and eventually you won or moved on or something. I know the details are vauge but I think the guy you played also turned into a werewolf or something. Any ideas or leads would be great. Thanks.

@Atreides No that's not it. It had a more cartoonish look to it and it wasnt so flat. I think I remember the character being about an inch tall on the screen. Could be wrong though.

ever play the Atari Lynx version? The Lynx versions of Chips, Gauntlet, Rampage, Rygar, Xenophobe, and Todd's Adventures in Slime World were so god damn good...

edit: time to d/l lynx roms! can PSP emulate lynx? Actually nvm, I have a psp3000 and I think pretty new firmware so eh. Ooo, can DS?

I only ever played Chip's, so your words are foreign and interesting to me.

And you could probably get them to work on DS or PSP, or one of those emulation handheld devices.

my dingoo doesn't have a Lynx emulator yet, and since I can't mod my PSP that just leaves my DS. I'll hunt around I guess.

What I meant was that Chips for Lynx is better than the other versions floating around (PC, something else?), and that the Lynx versions of a couple other games but especially Xenophobe/Todd's Adventures in Slime World were way better than their console counterparts.

Lynx was a great system regardless of how huge and powerhungry it was.

Shadow of the Beast comes to my mind since it involves a good bit of puzzle and the main character looks like a werewolf in the second one.

Altered Beast didn't really have much puzzle elements in it.

Amazingly enough, we use the sound effects from that game for our guild mod. Rezzes = Rise from your grave, power up = level up, etc.
Few UT/Quake sounds too.

Nickel City has that shit in the "Free to Play" section of the arcades. It's a good thing, too! The difficulty of the Arcade version eats my asshole
