Connection Problems

Posting for a friend since he doesn't have a BG account, he recently moved to a new house and cant stay connected for ffxi very long it will sometimes continually d/c him every 5min or he will just slowly redball randomly. He says his R and S stay around 50-70. He was using a wireless router at first but changed to just hooking up directly to the modem. He has comcast. Any help would be awesome thx.

Comcast generally sucks. Tell him to get a ISP that doesn't blow ass.

He can try to forward the ports that FFXI uses to his machine, but I'm not sure that will help or not.

if it was a port problem he probably just wouldnt connect period, main problem i had when I worked at comcast was poorly installed lines causing drops in signal.
