    Tips and tricks thread

I figured everyone by now has a few tips or tricks they could share with everyone else that will help leveling/questing go by faster or just make it a little easier.

    I'll start...

•When you hit level 9 you automatically get the Ascension quest, do this before anything else as it will level you to 10 and any XP gained in level 9 is negated so hand the quests you have in AFTER you do it.

•Level your gathering skill from the getgo as a few quests require you to pick up ore and herbs, you can just do it from the start and don't need to train or anything to pick them up.

•Keep all your greys as they are a GREAT source of income.

Thats all for now, I am sure some other people have some good tips to add to this :D

    Also Alt+7 = •

    EDIT: Another tip...

•The Auction House is CASE SENSITIVE! If you looking for "Sword of Might" and you type in "sword of might" you will get NO results back until you capitalize the words properly.

Oh my god @ gathering skill. For about a hour so far I've been running around low lvl area's 1 shotting mobs between finding plants etc etc to skill up on, looks kinda silly on a 22 Glad in the middle of a lv.10 area.

My tip, learn what your abilities do and how Skill Chains work, trying to be in a party/group situation with someone who doesn't is horrible lol, or someone who keeps waking up slept mobs with an AoE ability/spell.

I will say compared to WoW and FFXI that the shit you can gather is fucking EVERYWHERE on top of insane respawn rates as I was gathering silver and between the 3 nodes that were really close to each other I couldn't keep up with their respawn rate on top of being able to see 5 Iron ore nodes from any spot I am standing at.

Gets annoying the higher level you get because you get more gathering quests that you can't do added on the fact that there isn't many quests you can do in the first place

noob question.. what are greys >_>; the armor with the grey text?

    As for tips:
If you ever have the need to for the Krall marks quest, if you haven't noticed, the guards ontop of the towers are really easy to kill in comparison. My group disbanded when I was 1 mark away, another guy needed 2, so we killed one, changed channels and killed it again. You can infact, solo Krall marks this way if you really wanted to.

Greys are grey text items which are aka vendor trash you just NPC for money.

Anything with white text is useful and anything with grey text has no use outside of NPC fodder.

Thats how you solo Krall marks at 18 lol. Hit the tower guard, swap channels, repeat. Three towers, seven channels, you can get from 1-50 in under 20 minutes solo (if you don't get aggro >.>; )

I liked doing it in a group though. The exp was great. Also when you get to the point you start receiving the Krall quests (or Mau for Asmo) Make a few trips around to Sanctum (pandaemonium) and the other towns to make sure you have all the quests you can get. Otherwise you're gonna have to go back 5-6 times.

aion uses a lot of shortcut stuff which doesn't seem to be documented (yet):

    - alt + left click on an item with the broker search panel open copy paste's the item name into the search bar
    - alt + left click on an item with the broker register panel open let's you sell the item directly
    - shift + right click (i think) on a stack lets you create a new stack out of the current for x amount
    - sifht + right click (i think) on a vendor item let's you enter x amount to buy
    - ctrl + right click on an item / map position pastes that into the chat

i hope i didn't mix up anything, will check tonight.

When there's a rift up, there's a portal in the sky that supposedly points to where the rift location is. Worked twice for me, but several times it didn't (maybe the rift closed by the time I reached it, idk).

If you are talking to an npc multiple times, you can hit the attack key (C by default, it's labeled as Run in the key map options) to talk to them again. You can also use this key to turn on autoattack w/o having to waste a hotbar slot on it.

You can level alchemy really cheap up to like 50 and make all the pots you need for the early game levels.

If you are in pvp areas, you'll want to use the Secret Remedy pots for hp/mp, the regen ones are visable every tick to opponents.

To expand on the AH case-sensitivity, you can do partial names also. If you are looking for Greater Craftsman's Armor Refining Stone, you could enter "ater Arm ton" and find it. The system is really flexible.

If you go to the consumables>modify section fro manastones, you'll see they are grouped by type (accuracy together, parry together, etc.) but if you search for "Manas" you'll get all the stones grouped by tier, so the lower level stones at the beginning and the expensive stuff at the end.

You can search for "anas HP" to get to the hp stones quickly.

"/ s" (space in the middle) is the shortcut for /shout. I imagine yall know /le for legion /l for alliance /s for say /wh for whisper /gr for group. When v1.5 gets here, there are channels, don't remember what 1+2 are (region chat and trade I think) but /3 is find group, /4 will talk to all players in your class (pretty nifty).

In the chat entry bar, pressing tab will cycle through whisper recipients. Up/down will cycle previous entries like FF.

If you are sending mail, there is an arrow to the right of the recipient box that lists your legion members and friend list I think so you don't have to type them. You can't send items on a blank mail, you need a character in the subject.

Expand your inventory asap. It's about 75-80k total to get all of the 2nd bag open. Also, you can click on the bag name and change it if you want, dunno why you would care though.

You can pull mobs from a group of linkers if you have a cleric use divine energy to attack. If you have room to run, you can also pull with some ranged instant and run and as long as you use another skill on the mob while running it should stay with you when the others stop and turn back.

SM (and sorcs I think) can grind mobs 3 or so levels over them almost just as fast as even level mobs (in the early to mid 20s at least). DP will help the SM out, it's a little slower than even mobs initially.

^ Some pretty good tips. I know when I duo with a SM we can take mobs 4 levels higher then us and make over 2.5-3mil EXP an hour if we have the camp to ourselves.

When you start mobbing in the Abyss or rifts with 2-3 others start placing icons above the enemies to avoid confusion.

This isn't true. There are two rifts you can see in the sky... The one located on the more left side of the sky means that an Elyos rift is up (leading to Asmo). The other sky-rift located on the more right side of the sky means that there is an Asmo rift up (Leading to Elyos). They do not indicate the location of "said" rift, that is for you to find out or ppl to communicate via the chat channels

Its pretty easy to find them just by typing Regular Armor or Regular Weapon. It will bring up the normals, and the Craftsman's ones.

/g also works for legion (not gr)

I'm jealous of the SM DP move being so awesome. The Gladiator one is an instant move that does the same amount of damage as a normal skill.

    [ DP Explosion I
Inflicts 201~205 physical damage on the target and puts it in the Stumble state.

    DP Explosion II
Inflicts 340~344 physical damage on the target and puts it in the Stumble state.]

All you need is the any two letters of the name for the AH search: "Cr Gr We" will give you "Craftsman's Greater Weapon Refining Stone" ect ect
