Drama, Romance, Comedy Suggestions? (Anime Related)

I've been having an itch to watch some anime lately, but it's been a long time since I've picked anything up aside from some popular series. (Haruhi isn't putting out for me) My favorite genre is typically drama related, with romance and comedy fused into them. I know it sounds gay, but whatever, it's what I like to watch. I've pretty much seen every anime in existence up until a few years ago, so that's the timeline I'm looking at.

Some examples of what I've liked in the past are: KGNE, Eureka 7, True Tears, Clannad, Haruhi Season 1, Honey and Clover, Geass, Kanon, I's...and a lot more.

Really any genre is OK as long as its not super action packed. Those are OK every now and then, but I can't seem to stick with it for a long time.

Any suggestions you guys can think of would really help me out here.

    Thanks!

I'd agree with both of those and Hatsukoi Limited.
If want something that more comedy than drama/romance:
    Lucky Star
    K-ON
    Haruhi-Chan Suzumiya
    All very funny animes.

Gurann Lagann. It's a beautiful romance between man and machine. Really, go watch it if you havent.

Spice and Wolf: It's probably my favorite romance anime. Really good characters, and the story/context is original (aka: not another fucking school comedy with 14 years old)
Ef: Tales of melodies/memories is a depressing romance. Context is fairly standard, but I thought it was moving.
Toradora: Solid comedy/romance that doesn't end where it started after 26 episodes.

If you want pure comedy, try Seto no hanayome. It can't be a bad pick.

Kurenai, not really romance, but it has drama and comedy with splices of action. Really great dynamics between characters.

Red Garden, kinda the same thing with Kurenai. Drama/thriller with action parts, once you get past the awkward American singing (you'll know it when you hear it), it gets a lot better.

Itazura Na Kiss (I might have spelled that wrong). Guilty pleasure of mine, but it's got romance, drama and comedy, so it's probably the best thing I've suggested to your tastes.

You've seen Clannad, but have you seen After Story? It's like, 10x more whatever than Clannad was. And since you've seen Clannad and Kanon, I assume you like Key anime, so if you haven't already seen Air, go watch that.

EF - A tale of Memories and EF - A tale of Melodies. Shaft anime, low production value and animation, but good art (memories is iffy but melodies is a lot better). Great story and characters. Memories has the best use of a single frame in a scene ever. (edit: fuck you Kaylia, lol)

Edit 2: Shinigami no Ballad and Shigofumi, not really romantic, but dramatic and sad/tragic. Really good, emotional shows.

School Days if you want major lols by the end of the season, even though it technically fits your criteria I'd be...wary of this show.

Also 2nding Nana, awesome stuff. If you like that, Nodame Cantabile(sp?) is similar but a lot more humorous.

Shinigami no Ballad and Shigofumi were great. Anyone who want to watch a depressing story should give these 2 animes a try. I didn't list them because they werent romance, but they are worth it.

Kurenai was also pretty damn good (nice quality, good mix of slice of life/comedy/action)...I loved it, and i wish the novel was translated. i really want to read the rest.

Itazura na Kiss (might as well add Nodame Cantabilis..both show were fairly similar) wasn't bad. It's definitively directed at girl though, but it had its moment.

Alright so, this is what I've got so far on my list to watch: (Ranked in order)

    - Spice & Wolf
    - Toradora
    - Bakemonogatari
    - Hatsukoi Limited
    - Kurenai (not romance)
    - Red Garden (drama/thriller)
    - Itazura Na Kiss
    - Clannad After Story
    - Shigofumi
    - Lucky Star
    - K-ON
    - Seto no Hanayome

Everything else that was mentioned I have seen and the reactions have been pretty much the same as everyone else's.

Any additional titles would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much.

Clannad After Story is better than Toradora, imo. I have only seen Kurenai in between those two so I can't comment on most of that stuff. But if you enjoyed Clannad, After Story is a big upgrade from it, imo.

If you like Lucky Star you'll enjoy K-On! and vice versa, they're basically the same setup/personalities with some slight differentiation.

Is it strange that I sorta like K-On! but hated Lucky Star?

Depends on if art style means a lot to you or not, cause that's the major difference between them, imo. K-On focus' more on the cute, Lucky Star more on the funny, but I think overall they're very similar. Four eccentric high school girls without much drama/plot just going through high school. And Lucky Star started off slow while K-on suffers from high expectations cause I know everyone wanted more music from it than they got, lol.

K-On! would have been great if they played the ED song at some point. Well, overall it wasn't great, but at only 13 episodes I can't complain much.

Has there been anything remotely close to funny as Ichigo Mashimaro was? (within the past 2-3 years)

Recently? I guess the first season of Minami-Ke (possibly second as well, but that's as far as I'd go). It's a similar type of comedy, but focused on a much larger number of characters. And while it isn't as funny, it certainly does provide much needed laughs.
