Router Issue

The other day my house mate picked up a new wireless router (This one) because our old one went kaput. However, since then it seems to be throttling the speeds, and even in some cases blocking ports (most notable when trying to use torrents). It was not an issue with the old one, and her computer is wired into the router with a 3ft cord, so I don't think it is an issue with the wireless component. But honestly I don't know, I haven't had to deal with them before. She said she's tried fixing the settings, and amazingly she has already lost the book. So I come to BG in hopes that somebody might be able to help, or have experience with this brand of router.

Hm, reset the router/gateway and force all the ports open to your computer (yeah this is not safe but for testing purposes..., if anything hop into your torrent config and find exactly what port it's using at the time) but block WAN requests (not that it matters today if you're not hosting any services). If that doesn't fix it, your ISP must be unstable. Gateways (WRT610N) don't throttle your incoming connection.
