enV Touch issues

The phone power cycles and randomly reboots whenever it fucking feels like it. This used to be a major problem, but it has calmed down a little bit since the latest software update. However, it still does it while texting with the QWERTY. I called Verizon 4 times over the past two days, and finally got someone who is sending me another one. However, I have to send this phone back, and if the guy can't replicate the problem at the warehouse, I have to pay for the new phone. What kind of horse shit is that?

So my question is: Is there any way to downgrade the firmware in this phone so the problem is more obvious? If so, could I possibly hex edit the firmware file to display VX11KV07 instead of VX11KV05? This is starting to sound like return fraud...

Shitty phone is shitty no matter what you do. I have the same exact model and the same exact problem. I had the added bonus of air bubbles getting under my touch screen. Never going with LG again on anything.

I should add that I went to the Verizon store and had the one with the air bubbles replaced. My replacement phone still shuts down whenever it pleases. May not even be worth your while to replace it. Seems to be a firmware issue and they are slow to update versions.

Verizon customer service has been enough of a shithead these past two days that I'm considering canceling my contract all together, eating the ETF if I have to. Although I'm considering trying to get out of it by doing this:

Wow I was going to get a enV touch, got enV3 instead because I didn't want data plan. It sucked balls (random shut downs, didn't always receive texts/calls) so I took it back. Definitely not getting an LG anytime soon after reading this. Motorola or bust.

btw I hate verizon's customer service, sucks that they're the only one who has good service (at least where I live).

Yeah, they have fantastic service, but their customer service blows donkey cocks and I just want out at this point. Anyone ever tried using something like Celltrade USA, where you can transfer ownership of your account to someone else to avoid ETFs?

Nevermind, Verizon called me today. I asked them about what I would be charged if they could not reproduce the error in my phone. The lady told me that as long as I send my phone to the warehouse, I will not be charged a cent as long as they receive it within 10 days. So this is awesome.
